Present Experience/Duties/Responsibilities as RO

Well verse in operating various MF/HF/VHF/UHF/INMARSAT communication equipment fitted on Oil Rig.

Watch keeping on all the GMDSS equipment & Respond to all alerts.

Familiar with Chopper communication (Vital role of RO) during Landing/Taking off operations in Rig Move & while fully Jacked-Up for crew change sortie.

Familiar with boat operations on Oil Rig during crew change/Logistics supply etc.

Assist the Command and Control team during Emergencies & various operations.

Communication with the other Rigs, Platforms, Vessels & other shore stations for smooth operations.

Monitoring of Rig Fire & Gas Alarm system & report to authorities, if any alarm raises or abnormality observed.

Assist the Rig SSO to maintain Security Cards as per ISPS Regulations. Well aware of RO duties in connection with the ISPS regulations.

Preparing and passing of Daily Progress Report for Company.

Maintaining of POB including Room allotment, Time Sheet, Short Deployment List, IADC sheet, Daily Reports & various files & Records.

Maintaining of T-Card list for Life boats & updating the Mustering station records as per daily POB.

Preparation of Chopper/Boat manifest & Liaison with Base for Logistics support.

Monitoring daily ROB & record bulk status of the Supply vessels. Liaison with Base Office for Bulk allotments, transit Cargo & Manifested Deck Cargo.

Monitoring Weather & Gale warning.

Maintaining of GMDSS Radio Log and daily event.

PREVIOUS PRACTICAL EXPERIENCE (INDIAN NAVY)

15 Years of experience in Communication Branch of the Indian Navy.

Worked onboard various Indian Naval Warships for over 10 years in which, Job carried out are as follows:

-VHF/HF Communication with other ships inbound/out bound.

-Passing of messages/receive to nearby ships/shore authorities on Semaphore, through Flag hoist, by Voice and by Morse Code.

-Communication between Warships and Merchant Ship on VHF CH-16.

-Communication with Port control while Entering/Leaving harbor.

-Manning of Helicopter(Chopper) Control net during Helicopter(Chopper) operation at Sea as well as ashore.

-Communication with Man of War on sighting during foreign deployment.

-Routine Maintenance/Testing of all Communication equipment including GMDSS equipment in time.

-Acquired comprehensive experience in operational procedures related to communication equipment and troubleshooting thereof.

-Handling of all HF/VHF portable sets onboard/ashore.

-Logging of all events in Log book time to time and thereafter forwarding of comments/suggestion to higher formation for updating the things in right time.

Managed office operations of the section and contributed total administrative support to ensure hassle free office operations. Maintained reasonable inventory of spares and other inputs to meet operational and maintenance needs of the equipment’s.

Liaise with Customs and Port authorities for various administrative and operational requirements of the vessels.

Liaise with various firms and workshops at home and abroad for the procurement of spares and services for the repairing and defect rectifications of the vessels.

Liaise with various firms for dry docking of the vessels and manage the requirements during IRS Survey etc.

Liaise with various firms and authorities to assist the vessels to meet the Logistics and administrative requirements for the smooth operations of the vessels.

Inspect and closely monitor the vessels in a day to day basis and provide assistance to keep the vessels operational at all times.
