Project Description:

MODELING & BUCKLING ANALYSIS OF COMPOSITE COLUMN LIKE STRUCTURE.

Buckling exist in structures due to many reasons affecting the mechanical behavior of the system. Determination of the presence of buckling, its size is important issues since such deflection may cause catastrophic failures due to vibratory motion. One of the ways of determining characteristics of buckling in a column is investigating the vibratory properties of the column. To know about size, location and geometry of a deflection by vibration methods, first of all, behavior of structures that include buckling should be investigated. This led the researchers to study vibration characteristics of column with deflection. Natural frequencies of continuous column can be figured out by many models including engineering beam models such as Euler-Bernoulli beam or Timoshenko beam and by using some analytical or approximate methods such as finite element method. Then beams are modeled with a axial loading in it and natural frequencies of this deflected model are also calculated. For determination of parameters such as buckling size, location is compared. To precede the work further a review is made for the works that have already been done and the results of that in the following articles. Columns are traditionally descriptions of building or civil engineering structural elements, but smaller structures such as truck or automobile frames, machine frames, and other mechanical or structural systems contain column structures that are designed and analyzed in a similar fashion. The above motivational statement provides the scope for analysis of vibration of a composite column structure. Hence the present work deals with preparation of composite column and analysis of the same for vibration with axial load. With this instance we can relate the frequency of vibration with the buckling parameters. This Software used For analysis.

solves governing differential equations by breaking th problem into small elements like other

softwares. The FEA software ANSYS includes time-tested, industrial leading application for

structural, thermal, mechanical, computational fluid dynamics and electromagnetic .

Project Description:

Automatic railway gate system using Micro Controller Unit.

In everywhere at level crossing between railroad and highway there are so many railway accidents happening due to the carelessness in manual operations or lack of workers. So, this paper describes the automatic railway gate control system using PIC microcontroller for saving precious human lives and preventing major disasters in railway track. Railway gate may be saved for the road users to prevent accidents in terms of train speed at level crossing. This system uses PIC 16F877A microcontroller with the help of sensors. It can divide into two parts. The first part is concern on the hardware development where all electronic components have included. IR sensors, inductive sensors are the input components while buzzer, light indicator, DC motor and LCD display are the output components. These are controlled by the controller circuit. The microcontroller forms the main unit of the system. It receives input signal from the sensors and sends information to the gate motor driver for opening and closing the gate. Besides, the input signal will active LCD display and alarm and indication light circuit was provided as additional part of this system. The first inductive sensor and IR sensor are fixed at a certain distance from the gate and the second sensors are fixed at the same certain distance after the gate. The gate is closed, when the train crosses the first IR sensor and the gate is opened, when the train crosses the second IR sensor. This system deals about one of the efficient methods to avoid train accidents. The second part is based on software programming to operate the hardware structure. Program for railway gate control system is based on PIC microcontroller with PIC basic Pro language.
