I am an NCCER rated Industrial Electrician, card number 11585141 and have worked with all phases of residential and industrial wiring throughout my career to include 3ph AC motors, starters and VFDs controlling motors up to 300 hp.

I have installed automated equipment all over the US and many foreign countries to include Australia, New Zealand, Singapore, Taiwan, South Korea, Argentina, Mexico and Columbia. In addition to installation, I was responsible for training operations and maintenance personnel in the safe and correct operation and maintenance of the equipment.

PLC and HMI programming- have extensive experience with programming PLC’s and HMI’s (human/machine interface.) Have programed Allen Bradley, Omron, Siemens, Eaton and others.

Instrumentation - have extensive experience with digital and analog instruments, pressure and temperature sensors and transmitters, thermal couples, vacuum generators and controls, flow meters and strain gauge load cells and their associated digital instrumentation. I have calibrated all types of analog and digital weighing systems.

Responsible for all maintenance and operational compliance of ultra-high pressure BOP test systems. Travel between five company locations as well as on-site maintenance and repair at customer’s locations all over south Texas.

Service Manager – ultra-high pressure (5 to 40K psi) triplex pumping systems used primarily in the oil field for high pressure testing of various systems. Responsible for daily operations, active in field service with direct customer contact, and expansion of service department. The pumping systems Reliable manufactures are driven by diesel engines or 50 to 200 hp. 480 V 3ph electric motors, many with VFDs (ABB and others). The service department maintains and repairs both types of systems and their respective controls. I was instrumental in redesigning the stuffing box seal and modifying the operational procedures of the pressure control system. This change resulted in more precise pressure control and enhanced the life expectancy of major components.

Tri-Cal, Inc., Angleton, TX

Tri-Cal, Inc. began operation in October of 1997 and manufactured fully automatic and semi-automatic drum filling and material handling systems. As the owner of a small business, my duties included (but were not limited to) management, design/fabrication/sales of equipment, service, installations, and troubleshooting. Our systems required an extensive knowledge of hydraulics and hydraulic control systems, automated ball valves, pneumatic and PLC control logic, pneumatic and electrical actuators of all types and motor driven gear boxes with VFDs. I wrote all ladder logic for the PLC’s and HMI’s with many of the programs exceeding 400 rungs of logic. Our equipment frequently interfaced with customer provided computer systems via Ethernet connections. Tri-Cal started with three employees and employed eight during 2007 and 2008, before the downturn in the economy. Tri-Cal closed in August, 2011.

Velcon, div. of Velasco Scale Co, Freeport, Texas

Worked as service manager until I started the filling equipment division, of Velcon. My duties were to design, manufacture, sell and service the

filling and conveying equipment we produced. I took the filling division from three to 27 employees and 8 were field service technicians. We became the largest manufacturer of automated drumfilling equipment in the US and the second largest in the world and provided worldwide sales, service and support. I traveled the Pac Rim extensively to service and maintain the fully automatic filling systems.

Customer base covered all major chemical and petroleum companies world-wide.

We were ISO certified and I was involved in the process to achieve the certification. Velcon was purchased by Enduro in 1992.
