HVAC design course completed at NYU (New York University) School of Professional Studies
Load Analysis: Heating, Cooling and Space Loads Analysis for building system design.
Energy Distribution: Airside distribution, psychrometrics, heating/cooling coil capacities
Energy Distribuition via Air, Water Stream: Pipe sizing, Pressure Drop, Pipe Connections, Pump Selections
Air Handling Units: Configurations and options, fan powered boxes, variable air volume boxes, types of air handling units
Heating and cooling equipment: sizing of boiler equipment, steam accessories, chiller equipment, and cooling tower equipment
Knowledge of Green Building Design and LEED Certification, green building design features, types of cooling plants, chiller plant components and chiller plant design
Heating Plants: The lecture will focus on steam heating systems, hot water heating systems, oil conversion issues, and expansion tank sizing
Fundamental understanding of ASHRAE 90.1 code.
Familiar with energy ComCheck.
