Chemours Company operates three divisions in the production of chemical products

Reliability & Equipment Engineer (January 2015 - Present)

WMP/SAP PM Support for the Chemical Solutions division of the company. My specific role is to provide Work Management Process and SAP support.

Key Contributions:

Provide onsite WPM/SAP support to our Belle, West Virginia manufacturing facility. Major improvements were made in identifying failures and processing these in SAP.

Assigned to Memphis, Tennessee site to guide the maintenance group in Work Management Process and SAP. Key improvements were made in the planning and scheduling areas.

Reliability & Equipment Engineer (August 2011 – January 2015)

WMP/SAP PM Support in the Leveraged Mechanical Integrity Quality Assurance (MIQA) Resource Group - Houston Hub, Integrated Operations. My role is to provide Work Management Process support for the South and West region sites.

Key Contributions:

Asset Management Optimization Team. I was part a special team assigned to improve equipment reliability at the Mobile, Alabama site. My focus was to coach/train the Work Management Process including SAP Plant Maintenance module.

Assigned to Singapore to guide the maintenance group in Work Management Process and SAP.

Six Sigma Green Belt certification 8/2013.

Successfully supported four SAP Plant Maintenance Go-Lives.

Implemented management of change including mentoring/training of 150+ employees at 12 different sites in DuPont’s Work Management Process along with the associated SAP training. Training was completed in class room, webinar and one on one sessions.

MEADWESTVACO (MWV) – Evadale, TX / Charleston, SC 1983 - 2011

Global packaging solutions company and producer of packaging, specialty papers, consumer/office products and specialty chemicals with $6 billion in revenue, 153 locations in 30 countries, and 23,000 employees.

Reliability Engineer – Packaging Resources Group (PRG), Evadale, TX (2007-May 2011)

Lead reliability projects, including the implementation of a Work Management System (WMS) for the Texas-based MWV mill with 650 personnel within the Packaging Resources Group (4 mills and 2 converting plants in TX, VA, AL, and Brazil employing 4,000 personnel). Maintain a strong emphasis on Work Management Systems, Root Cause Analysis, Precision Maintenance, and Essential Care and Condition Monitoring aligned with new corporate focus on reliability in 2007. Supervise two personnel. RCA Analyst as well as Field Engineer for major outages.

Key Contributions:

Led implementation of the plant’s first viable Work Management System implemented division-wide; led the Division WMS team representing all four mills in planning, development, and sustainability.

-Gained buy-in from tenured plant personnel and achieved cooperation by fostering an environment of mutual respect and actively soliciting feedback/information from representatives of the 12 core groups.

Applied optimization systems and methods and drew on expertise in Root Cause Analysis and Asset Optimization to achieve higher levels of equipment reliability, operability and maintainability; improved schedule compliance from 50% to 73% and PM02 compliance from 25% to almost 70% over 3.5 years.

Implemented critical programs, processes, and software, including KPIs, ABB (Activity Based Budgeting) strategy, Meridium software, and customized Excel tools.

-Restructured processes and procedures to improve productivity and better manage resources, such as eliminating manual scheduled compliance reports that provided no value and frustrated personnel.

Resolved work order/timesheet errors, reducing 1,700 incorrect work hours (charged to another mill) within 12 months by closely monitoring and ensuring accuracy of incoming data.

Managed upgrade implementation of SAP 6.0 Maintenance module in 2010; supervised five-member team in intensive six-month project ensuring accurate transfer of high-volume data.

Chief Project Engineer/Design Supervisor/Design Engineer II – Root Cause Analysis, Charleston, SC (1987-2007)

Chief Project Engineer / RCA Lead (1997-2007)

Held multiple concurrent roles and participated in numerous special projects, including serving as Engineering Process Safety Management Lead during ten-year tenure as Chief Project Engineer and RCA Project Leader.

Key Contributions:

Launched a maintenance program in 2005, as RCA Lead delegating assignments for 12 RCA Analysts; highly successful program resulted in 105 incident investigations generating 525 action items with a 98% completion rate (only two repeat failures), and saving (cost avoidance) $2M over 2.5 years.

Managed day-to-day department operations throughout 2002 following transfer of the Engineering Superintendent to a special project; supervised 15 project and/design engineers and assisted capital budgeting.

Developed and implemented a highly successful Root Cause Failure Analysis program and facilitated the development of a Work Management System. Performed audits at all four mills.

Led SAP Training in 2003, supervising 15 trainers to delivery plant wide instruction of enterprise software.

Led the selection, design, and installation of a new Document Management System (DMS) for the Engineering department in 2000 following three prior failed attempts over the previous five years; researched systems and recommended AutoManager WorkFlow; saved $50,000 by eliminating contractor position.
