Fracture on a Thin Metallic Foil Sandwiched between Elastomeric Layers Due to Impact Load 2012-13

Experimentally it has been found that deformation pattern on sandwiched metallic layer is depended on the thicknesses of the top and bottom elastomeric material. To understand these phenomena, it has been further analysed

• Analysed the experimental setup to understand the material properties, boundary conditions & loading conditions and prepared different hypothesis to establish the possible phenomena.

• Prepared simulation model in ABAQUS software of these physical scenario and analysed static as well as dynamic behaviour by finite element method.

• Established the experimental findings regarding the effect of impact loading on sandwiched metallic foil by simulation results

• Prepared a mathematical model to get stress distribution of in the sandwiched metallic layer in static condition

B.E. PROJECT

Steady State Characteristics of an Infinitely Small Hydrodynamic Journal bearing with viscosity effect 2009-10

• Prepared a Mathematical model of an infinitely small journal bearing considering the viscosity effect (i.e. viscosity is not constant all over the places in the bearing) of the lubricating oil.

• Calculated the variations in total load carrying capacity, maximum bearing pressure etc considering non uniform viscosity using C code.
