Academic Projects
Masters (Industrial Engineering)
Using Six Sigma methodology for process variation reduction (March ’16 - Present): Using DMAIC for process variation reduction. Techniques used are PFMEA, Gage R&R, cause & effect diagram, with minitab
Product development of work station (Sept ’15 – Dec ‘15): Re-designed improved work station for professional organization to accommodate more number of employees within the space allocated with the help of concept designs based on the customer surveys, quality & product planning, and using HoQ for performance measures, stage gate validation method is used. Concept designs are made using NX 9.0 and Solidworks.
Developing an interior headliner system (Sept ’15 – Dec ‘15): Developed an overhead headliner system considering all parameters step-by-step i.e. requirements engineering, concept selection based on Pugh analysis, system validation, life cycle cost, system architect, risk analysis with FMEA, in consideration of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standards.
Making Von Misses Stress zero on both ends of the given FEA model in OptiStruct [June ’15 – July ‘15]: Made Von Misses Stress zero on the edges of both side elements of given FEA model by increase length and breadth of the model's base in Altair Hypermesh.
Determining the maximum stresses in the FEA model [May ’15 – June ‘15]: Determined the maximum Von Misses stresses in the finite element model for the dental restoration implant material with various depths of implant beneath the bony surface using Altair Hypermesh 12.0 software.
Assembly of multi-plate friction clutch [May ’15 – June ‘15]: Modeling of multi-plate friction clutch's parts, sub-assemblies and assembly with drafting on A4 sheet including the exploded view using NX 9.0 software.
Reduce the financial loses by reducing production of bad quality Vinho Verde wines [Jan ‘15 - April ‘15]: Reduced production of bad quality wines using t-test, with parameter pH content (Higher pH, spoils faster), sulphuric acid quantity. Software used Minitab and MS Excel.
Productivity improvement through Line balancing [Jan ‘15 - April ‘15]: Developed and evaluated improved Line Balancing technique using Yamazumi Chart, adding buffer before bottleneck station, applying Kaizen and improve equipment uptime through preventive maintenance. MS Project used for timeline & MS Visio used for process flow.
