Facility Manager / Operations Manager 2009 to 2015 Medical Waste Treatment Facility/Transfer Station

Regularly interface with the State representatives handling CDPH compliance regulations. Which includes being responsible for the walk through’s and execution of requests by the CDPH. Along with the compliance with CDPH regulations of NGG being my responsibility to maintain, I also worked closely with the hospitals and doctors offices to ensure their compliance with CDPH regulations.

Worked very closely with the President/CEO and CFO in budget planning in all aspects of operations. I was a key person looked to for input on expansion and growth with the company

I obtained a new patent for NGG and their partner company for an entirely new medical waste disposal process using Ozone. I conducted all testing and modifications allowing for them to gain not only a new patent, but an entirely new machine for the treatment and destruction of medical waste. I was able to get approval in the State of California through the testing I completed for the CDPH officials.

I was responsible oversee and assist in all maintenance and repairs of equipment. This helped me to become very familiar with Ozone technology and the precautions required to work with Ozone in relation to the destruction of medical waste.

I was responsible for maintaining all proper documentation for state requirements. That would include, tracking documents, certificates of destruction, insurance, treatment facility permit, transfer station permits (2 locations), SOP’s, MSDS, and keep the entire facility in clean operating conditions. I was required to go out on site visits to train clients on safety and compliance regularly. This also includes preparing and assisting clients with State and County inspections.

I’ve Coached and Mentored fellow employees and peers to help them develop a career path and action plans to accomplish their goals. Developed various Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s) to help the company prepare for the impending sale so the transition would be smooth and successful. Experienced in creating and implementing strategic plans using project management tools (PowerPoint Presentations, Excel, and Word,) that impact an organization.

This would include being sure a steady flow of waste was being destroyed each hour so all deadlines were met to be in line with the time clock for the destruction of medical waste. I was responsible for maintaining all proper documentation for state requirements. Responsible for resolving any employee issues that arise. I was responsible for both the hiring and termination of employees.

Trauma Scene Clean Up

I was responsible for assembling and overseeing teams to clean up trauma scenes. This would require use of PPE as well as various chemicals when cleaning up substances such as blood, human/animal tissue, vomit, feces, etc. Due to the nature of the Trauma Scene business, I was required to be discreet, prompt, and extremely thorough.

Managed a staff of 15 employees including 5 direct reports providing coaching, mentoring, performance management and employee development. Establish and developed a work environment that fosters respect, accountability, integrity and teamwork.
