Freelance Web Designer/Graphic Artist May 2006 – present Creating/Developing web sites for local and national businesses (restaurants; dance and construction companies; picture framing and car repair services, to name a few.) Designing the layouts and writing the HTML and CSS for the web pages, along with taking high-resolution photographs to enhance the web sites. Northwestern University, Evanston, Illinois October 1997 – May 2006 Web Designer/Developer/Graphic Artist/IT Support Specialist Web designer/developer and graphic arts designer for the Communications division of the Information Technology department. Created and designed/developed new images and layouts and write the code for all web pages. Maintained and updated these pages to keep them current with the constantly changing technologies.
Created (from concept to finished product) a strategic planning document (Northwestern University Information Technology’s Strategic Report), which provides the framework for the future for advancing Northwestern University’s Highest Order of Excellence 2005-2010 vision statement. Created/Designed an online newsletter aimed at assisting faculty and staff to utilize and learn more about the available technology services and support at Northwestern. This web site recently won an ACM SIGGUCS 2004 (Special Interest Group on University and College Computing Services) award for best electronic newsletter.
Created/Designed the "help guide" site for a new and innovative way to watch cable TV via the University network.
Created/Designed the "Get Control" 2003-2004 web site and ad campaign. "Get Control" targeted students, staff, and faculty to promote awareness of computer system security, viruses, and junk e-mail at Northwestern. Also designed several promotional items to go along with this campaign. Created and illustrated 8,000 computer images for the 1993-1995 versions of Compton’s Interactive Encyclopedia (CIE) on CD for Mac and PC. Designed and produced a Prospectus for Compton’s Encyclopedia for home usage. Created and produced concepts for advertising layouts, brochures, and specification sheets.
