Developed a web based preventative maintenance scheduling system resulting in a PM on time percentage of over 95%. Re-engineered maintenance work order system reducing backlog of work orders by 54%. Managed Plant Engineer’s efforts including new wastewater treatment system, two major building additions and an energy management program.

Led Information Systems team to implement major upgrades including plant network rewire, network operating system upgrade from Novell to Active Directory, wireless network installation and PC refresh program. On management team for SAP and MES implementations.

Successfully directed ISO-14001 registration and an integrated safety management system. Managed EHS Engineers implementation of layered audit safety program and medical management program producing an 18% reduction in the recordable incident rate.

Manufacturing Engineer

Project Manager for $14M dollar expansion including 40,000-sq. ft. building addition and 20 new pieces of capital equipment in foundry, machining, assembly and finishing. Overall project management included oversight of Manufacturing Engineer’s and Plant Engineer’s individual projects. Responsible for capital justification, budget management, project schedule, manpower, contractors and vendors. Project was completed on time and under budget. This project directly led to a promotion to Manufacturing Services Manager.

Justification, purchase, prove out, startup and process support of over $10M dollars of additional piston manufacturing equipment for machining, gaging and anodising of automotive OEM pistons including troubleshooting, tooling, processing and CNC programming.

QS-9000 team leader, EIG team facilitator, APQP team and Safety Steering Committee member.

Senior Manufacturing Engineer

Trained 375 salaried team members in Total Quality Leadership and 200 hourly team members in Continuous Improvement. Setup and facilitated 40 teams in S.P.C., T.Q.L., Setup Reduction and Continuous Improvement teams resulting in $1M in cost savings. Responsible for the purchase, prove-out, startup and processing of $5M of manufacturing equipment including $1.4M anodize system, $500K multi-pallet machining cell and miscellaneous CNC equipment. Managed tool design budget of $1M. Supervised internal tool designers and external contract design services to design fixturing, gaging and tooling for aircraft landing gear, wheels and brakes.
