Hello,

I saw your job opening on the Internet and would like to take this opportunity to introduce myself. As my work history reflects I have been in the work force for many successful and prosperous years. I have spent many years in a supervisory role and have been exposed to many different situations with many personalities of people and always took self-pride in handling myself in a professional manner bringing forth strong work ethics and morals.

I have been operating heavy equipment in the construction field, landfill and mining industries for 33 years. Over the course of those 33 years I have operated bull dozers, (track type and rubber tire), back hoes, excavators, loaders,(track type and rubber tire), all scrapers from the small finish scraper the largest 657 twin engine model, skid steers, motor graders, water trucks and hydraulic cranes,,, Over the years while operating these pieces of equipment I have completed safely and productively many different tasks associated with the functions of all the mentioned equipment. From slope work in mountainsides, finish grade work, underground pipeline work, road building and road maintenance, landfill operations, open pit mining operations, large and small demolition projects, and basic grading jobs, I have owned my own equipment and have contracted small grading and demolition jobs, I have also been a supervisor for many years and have a get it done personality. I am familiar with all phases of construction projects and take pride in completing a project in a safe and timely manner while always using strong work ethics and morals to ensure satisfaction to the customer and employee alike.

I also worked as a Heavy Equipment Operator trainer for 3 years for Associated Training Service. I taught a standardized curriculum by NCCER as a national standard set forth to efficiently train heavy equipment operators. I taught in a classroom setting and also field training for students of all ages and from all different backgrounds.

I have been working at Fort Irwin, Ca. as heavy equipment for the last 3 years, however I am currently unemployed because of government cutbacks.

If my knowledge can be used in a training or safety position I am also interested in that opportunity.

Qualifications: I have operated heavy Equipment for 32 years under many applications. I am familiar with the safe operation and service requirements of: all backhoes, front end loaders (track and rubber tire), excavators, scrapers, off road rock trucks, motor graders and dozers, and miscellaneous support equipment and hand tools associated with the maintenance of all equipment. Over the years I have been given a variety of tasks to perform while operating these pieces of equipment and I am a problem solver; get the job done type of operator while keeping safety as the key to making all decisions. I carry a valid class A driver license with all endorsements.

Work History: 2008- present: I A P Word Services, Fort Irwin Ca.: Responsible for the safe operation and daily pre-trip inspections of the assigned equipment while performing tasks such as, grading miles of roads, maintain drainage structures, loading and hauling material, excavating for sewer, water and gas lines, and miscellaneous tasks associated to maintaining a clean and safe environment on base and out in the box at Fort Irwin.

2005-2008: Associated Training Service: Victorville, Ca. Responsible for the overseeing of the training facility in Victorville Ca. I taught students in a class room setting and field setting to safely and productively operate heavy equipment to NCCER standards. I also did the tracking of the equipment usage, maintenance, and repair. I was in charge of scheduling the other trainers, while keeping a safe and positive learning atmosphere for the students.

2003-2005: Hanson: Rancho Cucamonga, Ca.: Operated a D-10R, my primary function was to step back all the perimeter slopes in the mining pit to a consistent 2:1 slope I brought down all slopes and maintained benches every 40 ‘. I checked my own grade while maintaining a safe work environment.

1993-2003: Norcal: High Desert Ca: I operated a D-9-L, compactor, loader, scraper, motor grader in the daily operation of an active landfill while adhering to all the safety rules and regulations. I was also the working supervisor which entailed the daily scheduling of up to 12 employees, keeping the daily paper work, conducting safety meetings and promoting a safe working atmosphere for the customer and employee, training and disciplinary action for all employees, and always complying with the regulations set for the by the state, county and our company.

1978-1993: I worked in the Operating Engineers Union for many different contractors throughout Southern Ca. I worked on small and large grading projects. I operated track and rubber tire dozers, doing pioneering work to finish grade work and support to large cut and fill jobs. I ran excavators and backhoes and dug and backfilled many miles of sewer and water lines, working around existing underground utilities always maintaining a safe working atmosphere for myself and the others around me. I read and interpret blue prints and have spent a few years as a grade checker doing layout for cuts and fills.
