Projects Executed

Design and Implementation of Digitally Controlled Compensators for Buck Converter

The performance of a DC-DC buck converter was improved through Digital controller design. Three Control methods was implemented, i.e. Voltage Mode Control (VMC), Peak Current Mode Control (PCMC), Average Current Mode Control (ACMC).

It is implemented using a Digital Signal Processor (DSP), in Microchip Technology’s Digital Power Starter Kit-II development board.

The design is verified by comparing the results obtained in simulation of the circuit in MATLAB/Simulink and the results obtained from hardware implementation.

Modelling and Simulation of Grid Connected Photovoltaic System using MATLAB/Simulink

A grid-connected photovoltaic system was implemented in MATLAB/Simulink. The system consists of a PV cell, a DC/DC boost converter, and a DC/AC inverter. A maximum power point tracking (MPPT) algorithm was considered.

Simulation results show that the model can effectively realize the actual physical characteristics of a grid-connected PV system.

Implementation of Three Phase Space Vector Pule Width Modulation (SVPWM) in MATLAB/Simulink

Space Vector Pulse Width Modulation (SVPWM) technique was studied. It was implemented for 3 Phase Voltage Source Inverter in MATLAB/Simulink.

Phase Angle Control of SCR Using ATMEGA32 (Arduino Uno Platform)

A suitable technique was developed to control phase angle of SCR using ATMEGA32 in ARDUINO UNO Platform and hence demonstrate the control of (change in) power supplied to the load.

Reduction Of Harmonics In Compact Fluorescent Lamps using Passive Filters and Wavelet Transform

In this project work a detailed study and analysis of the harmonics was done which is produced or induced in the supply side due to the electronic ballast of the CFL using a Power Quality Analyzer (PQA).

In this context, steps are taken up to reduce the harmonics using Passive Filters and Wavelet Transform technique. The designed passive filters are simulated in OrCAD PSpice and Wavelet Transform is implemented in MATLAB.

The Total Harmonic Distortion (THD) was evaluated and compared for both the techniques to determine the reduction in harmonics caused by CFL. Academic Achievements and Certifications

Cleared Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering(GATE)-2014 with AIR of 5050.

Received M.H.R.D. Scholarship from Ministry of Human Resource Development, Govt. of India in all four years of B.E.

Awarded Certificate of merit for securing 100% in Physics in Class XII Board Exam by Jyothy Composite P.U. College; June 2010

Awarded Certificate of merit for securing 100% in Mathematics in Class X Board Exam by Jyothy Kendriya Vidyalaya; June 2008

Completed training in Object Oriented Programming Using C++ in NIIT.

Completed training under Infosys Campus Connect Life Skills program. References
