Part of the management of a $30 million dollar roadway reconstruction project (South Texas) with ESR2P (Energy Sector Roadway Project). Joint venture with Angel Brothers & Austin Bridge and Road. Total of 61 miles were reconstructed.
Formulate and implement policies, procedures and programs on construction safety that comply with OHSA regulations and TXDOT.
Complete reports on workplace injuries and accidents. Investigate the causes and further action to be taken thru insurance company and with Area Safety Manager.
Complete checklist/ punch items once road is completed to ensure safety and thoroughness of the work completed by crew members.
Read blueprints/ plans and inform crew of work to be accomplished
Give orientation for all new hires throughout the duration of the project and provide hard hat stickers to laborers once trained.
Deal with storm water maintenance reports (ACI SW3P) and report rainfall amount
Collaborate with inspectors, engineers, and other construction specialists
Instruct and supervise construction personnel and activities onsite
Obtain needed equipment parts to keep work going such as cutting edges, etc.
Respond to work delays and other problems and emergencies
Select, hire, and instruct laborers and subcontractors
Place flyers around town and in nearby towns to hire laborers for roadway work.
Comply with legal requirements, building and safety codes, and other regulations
Attend monthly Safety Meeting with all safety managers for ESR2P to discuss new topics and accident awareness.
Conduct weekly safety meetings on site to inform crew and superintendents of new updated safety regulations.
Hold tailgate meetings each morning to notify crew members of work to be completed and complete Daily Pre-task plan
Report Q/A & Q/C for all roadway on a daily basis along with NDA (Next Day Activity).
Mark off pay items completed and monitor duties performed from all sub-contractors.
Complete labeled inventory of all equipment for entire Glenn Fuqua Inc. Company averaging over $10 million dollars.

Review soil runs in Omega and spreadsheets, initially checking for correct test codes, sample tests, preparation factors, referencing, and sample test number. Verifying that all data (Q/C and samples) are valid, within calibration, and includes passing QC per method requirements. Mark samples that do not meet requirements for re-extraction and turn-off.
Train new employees in lab on specific tests, extractions, and duties including how to use spreadsheets and Omega, instrument calibration, and safety requirements.
Prioritize work orders based on TAT and required analyses: prioritize daily extractions, duties, and analyses for efficient workflow.
Assist lead analyst with workflow when work load is heavy.
Employ different teaching techniques to effectively train new team members based on their needs.
