El Palito Refinery Expansion Project (estim. cost: 6kMMUSD)

• Reviewing Basic and detailed documents related to the Expansion Project of a Refinery for a maximum processing capacity of 280,000 barrels of daily oil (BPD).

• Elaborated scopes of work for the ITB (Invitation to Bid) related to civil structures, site preparation, detailed engineering and participation in technical meetings for the analysis of tenders.

• Developing and reviewing Standards and Procedures for design and construction of the Expansion Project.

• Participated preparing risk mitigation plan and project execution plan (PEP) for construction phase.

• Led review, control and corrections of engineering documents by ensuring the design and Constructability according technical specifications.

• Participated in reviewing engineering design, construction plan and project schedule of a new Highway with length 12 km, 2 km of tunnel and eleven drainage structures.

• Coordinated site visit with international financier’s companies as well as the study of technical capacity to the national company for construction.

• I developed Programs to improve management indicators and presentation effective to the project manager, companies and other stakeholders involved presentations.

Civil Leader Construction in PDVSA Petroleum of Venezuela (Mar 2010 – Jul 2013)

Power Plant 400 MW (estim. cost: 800MMUSD)

• Led the construction activities, review of the basic and detail engineering, development of procedures, construction plan and quality control of the project; bring to completion the objectives and scope of the project.

• Participated as field engineer in activities related with the overall construction work such as: supervise amount of 1500 concrete pile (cast in-situ), site preparation, Utilities plant, New Gas Pipeline, overall foundation, switchyard, storage tanks, water treatment plant, perimetral fence, workshops and warehouse Buildings, Combined Buildings, cooling water system, road, pavement, drainage and sewer system.

• Managed a 4-person engineering team, including hiring and assessing performance of employees.

• Elaborated tender invitations, monitor bid process and I participated in the risk assessments HAZOP.

• Supervised the activities related with the design and testing of pile foundation, Standard penetration test (SPT), Refraction Seismic and Geophysical survey.

• Worked with multidisciplinary teams to ensure completion on time in accordance with American standards and PDVSA requirements as well as detecting variations and action plan.

• From September to November 2011, I served as general Construction Manager, leading engineer groups multidisciplinary.

Major Projects of El Palito Refinery, Venezuela

• Led the construction of new foundation and platforms for equipment (exchanger, towers and horizontal vessel), fireproofing and repair of structures increasing the capacity of the Alkylation Plant during maintenance and turnaround in the plant major shutdown.

• Supervise a team of 48 coworkers for execute all scope of work during maintenance and turnaround in the plant major shutdown.

• Supervised the fabrication and installation of structural steel Platforms for tallest tower of Refinery (100 mt High).

• Supervised as field engineer the work blasting in the borrow area as well as construction backfilling of 1.200.000 m3 approx., auditing and control the project, QA/QC, monitoring cost, budgets and contractors involved to the New Truck Loading.

• Supervised the design, the labor force, subcontractors and construction of a new road (Length 2 km) inside the plant.

• Coordinated work activities with project engineers, contract managers, project control and budget for problem solving; maintaining excellent relationships throughout the project cycle.

• Elaborated reports and presentations related to the project status and progress.
