AIG eXtra Europe (New Business, Portfolio Mgmt., Renewals & MTA), Ireland

System Architect (March 2007 to September 2008) – Client Location

Business Problem: AIG in Europe is managing the increasing renewal volumes through today’s manual renewal processes that have been configured for large risk underwriting rather than servicing the needs in the corporate segment. Renewal is a similar process across all commercial lines, with high reliance on paper files, manual matching and collation of loss experience and policy data. This has resulted in renewal processing consuming an estimated 50 – 60% of available resource capacity within underwriting and administration across Commercial Lines in Europe. While growth in the corporate segment over the past years has been significant, underwriting practice and operational workflows built around the renewal of Major Accounts have not been adapted to cope. As a result our ability to renew business in this segment in a timely / efficient way is impacted through growing declination and lost rates. Developing a renewal solution on AIGeXtra presents a significant opportunity to streamline the renewals process and to improve the operational management of the renewal process to better operate in high volume corporate market.
