Mechanical Engineer
Designed Blow Out Preventer (BOP) Controls mechanical assemblies utilizing knowledge of solid mechanics, fluid dynamics, third party requirements (API, ANSI, ASME, etc.) and best practices.
oWorked cross-functionally with project management and other engineering disciplines to define project engineering scope, budget, and schedule.
oDesigned in 3D modeling software, utilizing models for analysis in FEA and CFD. Preparing and approving reports on the analysis for customer and third party certification.
oManaged full design workflow from prototyping/inception through manufacture support o delivery providing drawings, Bills of Materials, issue resolution reports, and test procedures.
Served as lead mechanical engineer for over a dozen, often concurrent, Jackup Rig BOP Control systems delivered to Norway, Singapore, Vietnam, and Brazil.
Managed a team of drafters for document creation and red line changes.
Utilized MS Excel and API/ANSI/ASME/DNV standards to run calculations and deliver technical reports determining BOP Controls pressurized fluid storage and pump sizing required to run BOP functions most efficiently and safely for new and upgrading projects.
