Accountable for the accuracy and development of the preliminary material handling study and for various inputs to the topsides mechanical equipment list. On as needed basis, create package specifications, data sheets and technical bid evaluation and material requisition technical documentation for the assigned packages.

Developed preliminary topsides facilities material handling study report issued for preliminary design.

Coordinated with construction manager and designers to reserve the pull volumes in the PDMS model for the rotors, motors, etc. of the main packages (gas compressors, water injection pumps, seawater lift pumps, etc.) in order to avoid future clashes with piping, cable trays, etc. which would be in the way of installation and maintenance spaces.

Develop request for quote and request for purchase of various packages including compressor packages, pump packages, vessel packages, flare system packages, etc.; accountable for effective project execution of these packages, which include the project and technical management including detail technical review of change order requests and package system review and approval of data: P&ID’s, foundation layout, piping layout, equipment layout, cable tray routing, wiring diagrams, MTO’s, etc.; responsible for coordination with other disciplines during the execution of the packages and including the integration of these packages as systems onto the topsides facilities. Consequently, responsible for fabrication accuracy of the packages. Coordinate the fabrication and mechanical completion of modules at fabrication yard and shipyard.

Checked all project drawings for accuracy. These drawings included the drive train and auxiliary systems P&ID, general arrangement, foundation, fabrication, isometric and vendor drawings as necessary.

Wrote packaging specifications for skidding and assembling the compressors, main motors and auxiliary components.

Coordinated with various shops the fabrication of the drive train packages, lube oil consoles, cylinder jacket/packing cooling water consoles, cylinder/packing lubricator and nitrogen purge panels.

Took field trips to the selected fabrication shops to verify the installation and assembly of the various components for consistency with the P&IDs, general arrangement, fabrication and isometric drawings. Make corrections as necessary using good engineering judgment.

Performed P&ID walk-through of the skidded systems before hydro test and after painting. Walked the flow lines and verify the position and accessibility of the valves and space needed for servicing the main components. P&ID field check included checking for the mounting of the compressor and motor on a skid, the location of the vessels and valves, heat exchangers, piping, valves and instrument/electrical components.
