I have 35 years of experience in manufacturing. I began my career as a machinist at T.H. Tool and Machine. From there I went on to field service for a machine tool equipment sales company called Alta. The following year I worked for Robotool where I designed and manufactured computerized machine tool equipment. For the past 24 years I have worked in advanced manufacturing of thin film tape heads for the data storage industry (Recording Head Operations or RHO) at Oracle / Sun Microsystems / Storage Technology Corporation. The initial 4 years I was with RHO entailed onsite manufacturing support. I then acquired the skills necessary to become an adept mechanical designer for RHO as well as proficient in the ability to fabricate prototype components, which was supported by my machinist background. At Oracle (RHO) I utilized the latest state-of-the-art (CAD) drafting software from PTC Parametric Technology Corporation. My main responsibilities at Oracle included product development and tooling design. On completed and accepted mechanical designs I was responsible for uploading components into an Agile database and creating a bill of materials (BOM) then sending drawings out to machine shops for quotes. I am competent and proficient with utilizing to various software and test equipment including but not limited to C++, Visual Basic, Pascal, Excel, Word, Powerpoint, Oscilloscopes, Logic Probes, ESD Surface Resistance Meters, Digital Multimeters, 3 Axis Mechanical Inspection Microscopes, dial indicators, micrometers, calipers, and torque meters.
