Topic: ‘’Simulation of Extractive Divided Wall Distillation Column by using Aspen plus simulator.’’

The main objective of this work is to achieve maximum purity and energy savings in dehydration of Bio-ethanol by using a novel technique that is E-DWC. ACADAMIC PROJECTS/ REPORTS:

1. M.Tech 1st project over ‘’Simulation of Multicomponent Batch Distillation Column by using Aspen Dynamic simulator’’.

Batch distillation is a common method for physical separation of binary and multicomponent mixtures. In this case of study develop a mathematical model of a ternary batch distillation column and the simulated model can be employed to predict the process dynamics at start- up phase as well as at production phase. In this mode of operation, the objective of the ternary separation is to recover the lightest component and then intermediate component at a constant purity. By this way, multiple products can be made from a single column. 2. M.Tech 2nd project over “Steady-State Simulation of Crude Oil Distillation Using Aspen Plus.”

The aim of this work was to apply ASPEN Plus in steady-state simulations of Pre-flash and Atmospheric columns in a crude oil distillation plant. Influence of the steam flow rate in the side stripers and of the heat flow removed in pump-arounds was analysed. Significant influence of the heat flow removed in pump-arounds on the flow conditions in the column and on the product composition is explained.

3. B.Tech Project over ‘’Fluid Catalytic Cracking (FCC) in the manufacturing unit (Refinery

To design a “Fluidized Catalytic Cracking” Unit of a refinery of capacity 331 m3/hr of light plus heavy vacuum gas oils as feed to produce product like gasoline, light cycle oil, heavy naphtha, clarified oil.
