Seymour Electronics, Seymour, Indiana 2001-2002

Plant Manager, we were a tier 1 supplier of transformers to Hill-Rom Incorporated (medical equipment)

We wound transformers and tested new and returned transformers and repaired them. Direct Reports: 2 Note: company merged with headquarters and closed the Seymour operation.

Burnham Corporation, Seymour, Indiana 2000-2001

General Manager, we were a Tier 1 supplier to Lex-Mark International. We assembled printers for Lex-Mark and shipped shipments for order procurement all over the world. Our largest shipments went out to all of the Walmart nationwide. I was also responsible for P&L for the business, employee retention, safety and relations with our customers. Continuous Improvement projects, upon my arrival to the facility, the VP of Operations set up 3 goals of improvement for me and the team. The employee retention rate was at an all-time low and he wanted me to improve that area as well as, profits were in single digits, 7% and up to current times, the most the printers that the company had shipped per month was 300k. Within the first year, profits had hit 16%, retention was at an increased number, and we had shipped out over 900k in the month of September. This was accomplished by the GM and the management team directly involved in the operation, by using the 80/20 rule of being on the floor 80% of the time and in the office 20% of the time. By being visible to the employees and taking an interest in their jobs personally, people began to enjoy their job, working harder and caring more. This resulted in better retention, increased productivity, thus improving profits. Prior to my arrival, around 2% of the employees even knew the name of the GM. Direct Reports 25, over 500 employees. Note: company was sold and closed the doors.

Warehouse Services Inc. Burkville, Alabama 1996-2000

Plant/Distribution Manager, overseeing 5 distribution centers for General Electric Plastics. We were a Tier 1 supplier for GEP and we handled materials from boxes to railcar quantities. I was responsible for maintaining a relationship with our customer, attending their production meetings daily, giving a breakdown of our strategy to continue moving their materials in and out of the plant. Some of the continuous improvement projects for our company was to directly involve the Plant Manager in the operation training, looking for better ways to move product from the manufacturing floor to the distribution centers. I was trained in every aspect of the operation, including driving the train, evaluating from a leadership perspective in better and safer ways to operate all of the equipment. We came up with a way to move product by directly involving the receiving teams at GEP. This actually reduced down times of materials by around 37% according to GEP’s reports during our quarterly meetings. Direct reports: 9

American Sheet Extrusion Corporation, Evansville, Indiana 1991-1996

Purchasing/Supply Chain Manager, I started off as purchasing assistant and worked my way up in the 5 years I worked there. I was responsible for Inventory and shipping quality products to Whirlpool Corporation. We were a Plastics Thermoforming and Extrusion company. I also worked with a team of warehouse workers as well as the production crews. Continuous improvement projects included having me come up with a new layout of the entire warehouse from the production line to the shipping docks. It decreased the time of having the materials packaged from the production line, which allowed us to get the product out the door faster, we also changed the way the shipping dock prepared product for delivery by adding an final inspection process at the dock doors, reducing shipping errors and damaged product getting out to our customers. Direct reports: 8
