Present

Mainframe Sr. Programmer Analyst in charge of maintenance and upgrades to the state of Illinois HFS Medicaid/Medicare on-line screens and data. HFS(Health and Family Services) uses 12 on-line(IMS DB/DC) screens for entering hospital claims data, retrieval, display, data corrections and then storage of the data back to IMS(or DB2 tables). Illinois hired me to upgrade all of the screens and COBOL programs to conform to HIPPA legislative compliance of state and federal mandated changes to health care. The prior system only allowed up to 65 different revenue lines to be stored on one claim and HIPPA required a mandatory 999 potential revenue lines to be stored on a claim in order to be compliant. Other duties included demos to the claims team using the TELON design prototype option to promote acceptance and pre-approval of screen changes. Documentation of all changes using VISIO flow charts(Data Flow, Process Flow), screen layout plotter(MFS) and EXCEL(Event-Response tables). Worked directly with the users

As 1st contact for our group to trouble-shoot problems, analyze concerns, identify errors/concerns, route concerns to appropriate programmer(s), document and track progress and timelines of these concerns back to the users(non-programmers).

12/2004 - Computer Horizons, Prudential Insurance(Employee Benefits), Dubuque, Iowa.

02/2006

Sr. Programmer Analyst with sole responsibility for research, analysis, design, coding,

Testing, debugging and quality of ad hoc report requests. Dozens of daily requests for

Pulled off the IMS mainframe database and delivered within a 3 day deadline.

Requirements gathering and data research was acquired by conducting customer

IMS online screens. Despite the high volume of data requests, the average report was

delivered in under one day. Task recording, tracking, updating and prioritizing had to

be revised closely and constantly. Dedication and long hours were required to keep

up with the large fluctuations in report requests. Designed, coded, tested, debugged

and implemented COBOL/DB2 development programs for the DBS to PRIDE
