PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE

Research Assistant, Department of Electrical Engineering, TAMU, College Station Aug. 2010- May. 2015

Invented world’s first Water Immersible MEMS Scanning Mirror which can work reliably in the liquid environment. Achieved in vivo photoacoustic imaging system and improved 500% frame rate.

Designed and fabricated 2D Virtual Ultrasound Transducer Array tomography system as well as reconstruct 3D image using MATLAB and VolView. Reduced the cost of generating 3D ultrasound image for at least 100% and improved the resolution more than 50% compare with traditional physical 2D ultrasound transducer array.

Instructed two master students building handheld ultrasound microscopy with Water Immersible MEMS Scanning

Mirror and portable 3D ultrasound imaging probe using 2D Virtual Transducer Array. Interpreted theories and system

requirements comprehensively and accomplished prototype designs.

Built automatic arbitrary scanning pattern ultrasound and photoacoustic co-register imaging system with LabVIEW,

MATLAB, programmable linear motor, and DAQ cards. Accelerated simulation and data acquisition speed up to 600%.

Research, Design, and Development Engineer Ш, Baker Hughes Incorporated, Houston Jul. 2015- May. 2016

(World 3rd largest oil drilling service company)

Developed in-situ calibration method for next generation resistivity logging while drilling tools. Expected to improve at least 50% accuracy when the formation resistivity larger than 100 ohm-m by analyzing and simulating electrical and electromagnetic properties of down hole resistivity measurement.

Analyzed root cause of electrical resistivity imager of current tool. Provided solutions for high quality resistivity imaging in harsh conditions like high resistivity formation with low resistivity drilling fluid.

Engineer Intern, Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company (TSMC), Hsinchu, Taiwan Jul. 2013- Aug. 2013

(No. 1 semiconductor manufacturer in the world)

Analyzed incoming issues while mass product ordinary layouts with Multiple E-Beam Direct Write system through paper searching, existing layouts analyzing, and simulation with MATLAB. Saved 70% time consuming of layouts examining and investigated two design rules.

LabVIEW Programmer, Department of Psychology, TAMU, College Station Mar. 2012- Jun. 2013

Developed 12 physiological signal monitor programs including GSR, ECG, PPG, EEG, and respiration. Increased 90% of subjects testing speed by managing testing flows of each psychological experiment.

Integrated Biopac, Biosemi, and Medoc Pathway Systems using LabVIEW and self-designed adaptor. Synchronized data collection procedure of three instruments and saved more than 50% time consuming of data processing in each trial.

Research Assistant, Dept. of Computer Science, NCKU, Tainan, Taiwan Feb. 2010- Jul. 2010

Developed baseline shift heartbeat calculating algorithm to monitor the physical condition of patients in nursing hospital. Increased 90% heart beat accuracy when the patient is under emergency.

Remodeled wearable wireless sensor network monitor with MSP430 and Taroko Zigbee module. Saved 32% dimension as long as 45% weight of entire system and resulted in finger-wearing health monitor device for aged home.

Research and Development Engineer, Industrial Technology Research Institute, Oct. 2005- Jan. 2010

Tainan, Taiwan

Created pixel by pixel color feedback algorithm for LED back light module by using current mixing method. Issued two patents (Pub. No.: 2008/0012820 A1 and Patent No.: 7973759) and increased 19.85 % color accuracy of LED backlight.

Investigated flick free sequential LED light intensity detection method to address the blink issue of large size LED monitor. Increased 300% of LED dimension without blink phenomena and issued one patent (Pub. No.: US 2008/0252664 A1).

Deduced wavelength stabling algorithm for LED backlight module. Increased 50% temperature tolerance of LED monitor and issued one patent (Patent No.: 7638744).

Research Assistant, Far Infrared Rays Laboratory, NCKU, Tainan, Taiwan Sep.2003- Jul. 2005
