Objective

I am an operations management professional of warehouse, manufacturing output, logistics and supply chain operations including staffing, purchasing, inventory control, fleet management, SOP consulting and human resources. I have an 8-year background in warehouse management and 2 years in lean manufacturing output and storage. I am highly resourceful, using a multitude of tools and knowledge I have collected over the years with various companies to flesh out and implement any operations goal.

Experience

Conley’s Manufacturing November 2014-February 2015

Supply Chain and Warehouse Operations Manager

Creation, adaptation, training, and implementation of efficient logistics operations, lean storage practice, freight cost quoting protocol, safety, inventory management operations, back-end to manufacturing and sales-floor communication protocol, back-end to customer and carrier communication protocol, informed freight quoting procedure, and standard operating procedure regarding all manufacturing output activities for an established, family-owned and operated greenhouse manufacturing plant.

Accomplished the primary goal set forth by company leaders for the position of reducing missed shipped dates by half by assessing then adjusting existing supply-chain operations for inventory control, communications with purchasing, staff performance reviews and meetings, utilization of freight carriers based on types of freight and delivery locations, and establishing a previously non-existent communication protocol from the back-end with the sales department effecting more accurate quoted lead times. Within one month, ship dates were on-time or early at 75% of the total orders, up from 30% at best during the 90 day period prior to my signing on.

Reduced shipping costs by almost half by establishing an accurate and specific freight classification protocol for freight quoting, training sales staff how to accurately quote freight, and introducing carriers from my past logistics experience that specialize in certain regions, job sites, lead times, and freight needs to avoid over-charges.

Improved communication throughout the plant on order status by developing an organized system of shared files.

Establishment and consistent implementation of reviews, goal setting, and coaching systems for packers, loaders, inventory management staff, and drivers.

Establishment of efficient output and raw materials inventory and storage systems that directly contributed to higher production output, lower overhead cost and more efficient use of floor space.

Contribution to the development of an inventory management process for the plant using limited resources and consistent communication with purchasing.

Responsibility to communicate and work with production planning using delivery schedules to prioritize manufacturing orders to meet all delivery deadlines with the shortest time possible of finished product sitting on the floor.

Efficient waste and recycling management, as well as movement of raw material, waste, and finished material throughout the plant.

ATI Windows/ABC Window Systems February 2014-September 2014

Logistics Operations Manager

Creation, adaptation, training, and implementation of efficient logistics operations, lean storage practice, safety, fleet/forklift operations and standard operating procedure regarding all manufacturing output activities for a quickly growing and highly competitive window and door plant, along with two satellite locations, with little exposure to best practices and varied regulations and laws.

Management of a complex distribution system including an internal fleet, local delivery scheduling and loading, local installation, 3PL utilization and set-up, as well as truckloads to satellite locations. Internal fleet consisted of class A tractors, 53’ and 48’flatbed trailers, 53’van boxes, California permanent trailers, class C delivery vehicles, installation vehicles, and multiple LPG and diesel forklifts. I had the responsibility to ensure that the fleet was DOT, OSHA, and state compliant for California, Nevada, and Arizona, and to establish and maintain a 3PL shipping process that would greatly reduce the company’s shipping costs for LTLs.

Establishment of successful company forklift training and certification program that was OSHA and safety compliant.

Establishment and consistent implementation of reviews, goal setting, and coaching systems for packers, loaders, inventory management staff, janitorial staff, and drivers.

Establishment of efficient output and raw materials inventory and storage systems that directly contributed to higher production output, lower overhead cost and more efficient use of floor space.

Contribution to the development of an inventory management process for the plant and satellites.

Responsibility to communicate and work with production planning using delivery schedules to prioritize manufacturing order to meet all delivery deadlines with the shortest time possible of finished product sitting on the floor.

Efficient waste and recycling management, as well as movement of raw material, waste, and finished material throughout the plant.
