ETL Architect/Developer 06/13–Present, Atlanta, GA

Data Warehouse ETL Developer tasks:

oBuilt HL7 interfaces (CCD and Discharge Summary of state hospital/community data) from Data Warehouse (Hospital and Community data marts) to the Georgia Health Information Network which is managed by Truven Health Analytics. Web service for customer portal implemented by eHealthObjects.

oETL processes designed, implemented, scheduled and maintained with Oracle Warehouse Builder (OWB) 11gR2, ODI, MS SSIS and custom PL/SQL packages. Design and implement Data marts. Performance tuning ETL and DataMarts.

oProduction support of Oracle ETL processes in areas supporting State hospitals, long term care and private Medical service providers.

Designed/implemented reports/services and dashboards in MicroStrategy. Subject areas consisted of Emergency Room availability/utilization, Physician metrics for different types of specialty and Medicine metrics for lab testing.

Designed/implemented ETL processes utilizing IBM Infosphere Datastage.

Architected the Microstrategy components to support the reports: Tables, views, Facts, Attributes, Metrics, Filters, Prompts and Custom Groups. OLAP services were facilitated for movement of report objects and flexibility with derived metrics.

Designed and implemented ROLAP datamarts with Metadata stored in OWB and Erwin repositories. Master Data Management (MDM) methods employed to consolidate/aggregate and provide consistency across reference data of business units and 10 merged companies. Subject areas consisted of Payroll, Timekeeping, Retail (Deliveries/Returns/Pricing) and Customer Sales Activity (AR). Each datamart utilized Kimball (star schema) design methodology with type I and II (SCD) dimensions and fact tables. Data was verified, cleansed and updated within ETL processes using OWB Data Profiler component. Data source was Oracle 12g ERP system.

ETL processes designed with Warehouse Builder (OWB) 10gR2, Microsoft DTS, Informatica and PL/SQL. Administered Discoverer business areas in BI admin. ETL scheduled with Oracle concurrent manager jobs.

Designed OBIEE dashboards, answer requests and supporting physical, business (fact and dimensions) and presentation layers. Tuning involved sizing the BI server cache, Aggregation on measurements for dimension levels and creating materialized views on database source to reduce report refresh times.

Performance tasks:

oImplemented custom PL/SQL ETL packages utilizing following performance techniques: Partition exchange, bulk processing, Merge, Aggregate functions, bitmap and function based indexes, parallel query, Materialized views (Query rewrite) and table partitioning.

Ascom Transport Systems – Oracle Database Architect 01/02 – 01/05 Atlanta, GA

Designed Logical and Physical model of Fare Collection system for Major public transportation systems (New Jersey Transit Public transportation and Los Angeles Metrolink rail system) using Erwin case tool. Both OLTP and Data Warehouse systems implemented for real-time processing and reporting. Wrote database design and maintenance manuals. Maintained transportation tariff and configuration for all Rail and Bus products.

Installed, configured and maintained Oracle 9.2 databases, Oracle Client Networking software and 9ias (rel 2) Application Servers in development, test and production environments on Solaris 8 and 9.
