MAXIM INTEGRATED PRODUCTS

SUNNYVALE, CA

In my current position I serve as a Senior Manufacturing Test systems Engineer supporting the test, repair and calibration of laser trim systems, semiconductor test systems produced by Teradyne (Eagle ETS88), LTC, General Scanning M310,320 & M350), TMT\Credence (ASL1000, ASL3K, RFX & SZ-3650 and the KVD (M2). This entailed the biweekly calibrations and performance of PMS inspections, and the installation of equipment upgrades and enhancements, to both the laser systems and the electronic test systems. The revision of older product test programs. This position required the performance of travel to the dispersed production and R&D sites in Oregon, Arizona, Texas the Philippines and Thailand. I performed inspection and evaluation of equipment at vendor sites prior to purchase. In my initial period of employment I served as one of the production divisions Support Engineers. In doing this I interfaced with the production test floor supervisors as to the status and condition of the semiconductor tests systems consisting of IC handlers, Transition boards and heads, all cabling and interface devices. I would perform scheduled calibrations and provide reports on equipment status to the quality control department. As a senior test system engineer I designed several small testers for use by the setup technicians to assist in expediting setups and verifying interface errors. I was later tasked with the development of a basic electronics course for the IC handler operators and the setup technicians. Initially I taught these courses and then trained my replacement instructor.

In this position I worked as both a repair and calibration technician. I provided support for the Colorado Springs Logic Analysis Division line of logic analyzers (16XX Series). This support included fault isolation to ether the board or component level as required. Performing instrument upgrades, both hardware and software. Installation of equipment system and test options, calibration to both commercial and military standards using both computer automated and manual calibration techniques, recording calibration data and preparation of calibration certificates. I provided test and calibration support to the products of both Hewlett Packard Japanese divisions (Kobe Instrument Division & HSTD ) these products included Semiconductor Parameter Analyzers / Spectrum - Network Analyzers / LCR meters / Precision High and Millie-ohm Meters / Impedance Analyzers and more. I assisted in the development of a product support plan for the two-network component division’s products at the former Mtn. View customer service center. This included both the Hewlett Packard Open View and Advance stack products. Support included hardware upgrades and revisions, option installation. As a calibration technician I performed both in house and customer site calibrations to both commercial and military standards, providing calibration data and certificates of compliance for customers. To broaden our customer base MULTI-VENDOR calibrations were initiated. In support of this I would research each piece of equipment's calibration tolerances as set forth by the manufacturer. Compile a list of required calibration standards and test equipment then prepare a preliminary calibration procedure.

UNITED STATES NAVY

For the ten year period prior to my retirement from active duty I was stationed at Moffett Field, Mountain View California. At this command I was work center supervisor of the electrical repair shops. These four shops provided repair and calibration to electrical and electronic components and systems removed from aircraft for repair and or calibration. As the supervisor I was responsible for the production efforts, staffing and training requirements of forty-five technicians and their supervisors on two shifts. I prepared quarterly reviews for my assigned supervisors and reviewed those prepared by supervisors for subordinates, these counseling sheets were used to prepare annual personnel evaluations / reviews. I attended daily production planning meeting with managers. Then disseminated this information to shift and shop supervisors. I reviewed production data reports for trend analysis of man-hours required per job order to set manning levels and reviewed reports for parts usage and maintenance cost. Prepared training lectures in both a formal and informal training context for assigned personnel. Reviewed HAZMAT, MSDS and OSH requirements with safety representatives to insure compliance and familiarity with these programs by assigned shop personnel.
