Drive design and implementation of complex network systems on contract for Ridgewells Caterers, leading area catering service whose key clientele includes The White House, the State Department, military & governmental agencies, Fortune 500 corporations, educational institutions, embassies, the Washington Redskins football organization, the NFL, and the US Golf Association. Manage Ridgewells Caterer’s corporate network, and ensure 24/7 up-time availability across its 15-server, 12-location, 150-user enterprise network that supports up to 1,000 events per month. Supply firewalled remote access to system for use at Arena Stage, Strathmore, and private schools. Key Projects:

Washington Redskins: Designed command center and sales office network connected across stadium using fiber optic cables and T1 line for internet access; configured network to support pre-game orders for 400+ suites and check-in for 300+ staff. Created fully redundant server system to avoid costly downtimes. Administered and supported system from 1999-2008.

Super Bowl XXXIX: Established LAN network for use during 2005 Super Bowl in Jacksonville, Florida; coordinated shipments of printers, workstations, and servers for week-long preparation.

US Open Golf Tournaments: Built complex networks to support onsite food services, sales, and staffing for major golfing tournaments from 2001-2015. Enabled access to email, databases, documents, phone, copier, and fax. Used redundant cabling, onsite Internet, public Wi-Fi, private Wi-Fi, and cellular networks to provide Cloud environment. Relocated several servers to VMWare portal; migrated existing server using P2V utilities and VMWare OVF tools.

US House of Representatives: Created network to manage all catered events for US House of Representatives; provided 3 wall- mounted payroll kiosks and secure connection to paycom website via Chromebook. Used copper-to-fiber converters to connect office locations that were spread out across 4 floors.

Kemper Open and AT&T National Golf Tournament: Developed staff check-in system for 450+ staff members working at 6-day golf tournament. Set-up onsite system comprising generator, laptops, and barcode scanner that reduced check-in time from 1 minute down to 20 seconds.

POS at Arena Stage: Set-up network to provide efficient method for fulfilling intermission snack orders; enabled attendee pre- ordering using IPAD kiosks for quick pick-ups using tickets; engaged wireless printers at snack bars that enabled staff to stage orders in advance of intermission, which reduced wait times from 10 to 2 minutes and boosted overall sales. Ridgewells Phone System Upgrade: Initiated migration to VOIP phone system to replace unreliable, costly existing system; analyzed business requirements, evaluated vendor bids, selected I-Core Systems, and coordinated installation of 10Mb finger internet connection from Verizon. Trained staff on new system that boosted productivity 50% and reduced downtime 100%.

Microsoft Azure Migration: Migrated existing onprem Servers to Azure. Upgraded Server 2008 to Server 2012r2 AD DS including functional level. Utilized PowerShell Azure to configure instances, virtual networks, and server parameters. Created back-up vault and utilized back-up agents to schedule backup plan. Established point-to-site VPN and site-to-site VPN to synchronize Private to Public Cloud.

Cloud Exchange & VMWare Migrations: Migrated 85 users with up to 30,000 messages each from Microsoft Exchange 5.5 to Office 365 without any issues. Drove successful migration of RDP Servers, Domain Controller, and Microsoft SQL 2008 Server to VMWare, which allowed for easier scalability and better fault tolerance.

Cellular Internet Back-up: Installed Cellular card in Cisco 1941 Router, and configured it as backup Internet connection to provide fault tolerance in event of fiber optic failure.
