ACADEMIC PROJECTS

Telecommunication Networks:

Designed and simulated a Wireless sub-networks in a network using TCP and UDP in scenario A and multiple UDPs in scenario B.

Designed using four sub networks in network IEEE 802.11, with each sub-network joining to adjacent sub network using router.

Each sub network had five nodes and was connected in such a way that each node was able to hear each other’s transmissions.

Mean packet interval was fixed in scenario A and exponential in scenario B

Analyzed average packet delay and throughput without fading(scenario A) and with fading (scenario B)

Tool used - Qualnet 5.0 software

Fiber optics Communication:

Designed a cost effective DWDM transmission system to link two cities considering various parameters excluding protection channel and supervisory channel.

Transmission system was designed using commercial DCF for dispersion compensation.

Verification of whole system was done using eye-diagram and Q-factors.

System margin of 5 dB Q-factor was required at BER of 10^-9.

Tool used- Optisystem software.
