Cover Letter

To whom this may concern,

I have a strong interest in your mechanical engineer job in your company. I am a recent graduate who worked on my bachelor’s degree in biomedical engineering in Rutgers University. With excellent oral/writing skills and working together in a team environment at my job in Thomasville, volunteering and research, I am prepared to become an immediate contributor to the team. Working for your company will allow me to show how much I have learned in my 4 years in Rutgers as an engineer. My ability to work under pressure will give me a good advantage when put in this type of situations. I believe I will prove to be a valuable asset to your existing team and be successful at any task given. Thomasville Homefurnture gave me excellent communication skills interacting with the customers on their sales order. I have strong leadership skills, which included planning activities in the New Jersey Veterans Memorial Home I volunteered in. Also became very active in my university by helping raise money for RUBES while becoming a true trailblazer and organizer in SHE. The research project/ senior design project I have been working on during senior year which is on radial artery tonometry, gave me the ability to become the frontrunner in the group and use critical thinking skills to create a device that would be low cost, portable, and noninvasive to measure arterial stiffness. In the end, out of the 32 groups that presented, my group came in 5th, which was a great accomplishment for us. I want a job that will allow me to work at my full potential and will be able to give me the opportunity to prove what an asset I can be to your company. I have the knowledge I’ve received as an engineer in Rutgers and now I want the opportunity to showcase the ability to perform them hands on in your company. Furthermore, the classes I have taken in Rutgers are familiar with the job requirements and skills needed. Enclosed is my resume for your review. I welcome the opportunity to discuss with you personally how my skills and strength can best serve your company.

Sincerely,

William Medrano
