PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE in Detail

COMPANY NAME: Tech Mahindra Ltd.

For the last 9 years, have been associated with Tech Mahindra and have worked in various roles including Project Manager, Tech Lead, Team Lead, Business Analyst, etc. and was involved in all the areas of Software Development Lifecycle. These roles involved overall project management in the Telecom domain using Microsoft Technologies with main client being British Telecom (BT). 1. British Telecom’s (BT) Global Service’s Andes Program Applications: Managed 5 diverse software applications within Telecom domain. These applications were a part of the BT Global Service’s Andes Program of Italy region i.e. BT Italia (BTI). These included: AMC, Directory-Fiat, RSO, SLAM and Copertura.

BT Italia AMC (Add-Move-Change): was a .NET web application where the BTI customers can raise a request to Add, or Move or Change the BT telephonic equipments in the FIAT factory vicinity, i.e. to facilitate Facility Management Service for the BT Italy customers. Once a request is raised, it is routed to the relevant engineer who services the request and closes it. The entire journey from raising a request till its closure is monitored and tracked using this application.

BT Italia Directory-Fiat: is a .NET web application that contains details of all Fiat employees like phone numbers, service numbers, telephonic line details etc. It also makes a provision for ordering a new phone line and changes existing details of the Fiat employees.

BT Italia RSO (Request Service Outsourcing): is a web based application which is used to manage Service Requests raised by the BTI customers who are corporate users of BT products, to Move or Replace the assets in the company Premises which is maintained by BT. Once any request is raised it is assigned to the Change and Dispatch team who eventually manage delivery of the requests. The application has many capabilities to manage various stages of the requests. Various reports are also generated.

BT Italia SLAM (Service Level Agreements Management): is a web application that captures, calculates and publishes Service Level Agreements and penalties liable to the customers by BT for the services provided to its customers. The penalties are calculated based on the deviation/lapse of the services provided. The SLAs are specified in the contracts signed between BT and its Customers. This application uses ETL Pentaho Tool in the background.

Copertura: is a Service Delivery unit of BT Global Services. The application is an online web service application which is used to find out various services provided by TI (Telecom Italia) and BTI (BT Italia) in given geographical region for the given CLIs (Caller Line Identification Number). The various applications access this web service, provide the CLI and get information about available services. Different types of services provided include ULL (Un-Bundling Local Loop), ADSL (Asynchronous Digital Subscriber Line), HDSL (High-Speed Digital Subscriber Line) etc. 2. European Reseller System (ERS) [7 months]

ERS is a web enabled Pan-European Customer Management solution targeted for resellers to provide the VOIP Services for their customers. ERS application is used by BT Resellers to place an order on behalf of end users. ERS application system offers resellers the ability to use web interface for all provisioning, tracking and reporting activity for CLI or telephone numbers. Some of the main features of ERS include; web-based features to resellers for order entry, order tracking and reporting. The application is designed for resellers to place orders for CLIs for VOIP products in Netherlands. Some of the activities performed includes understanding the requirements, do a low level design and Lead the development team and deliver. 3. Integrated Business Solutions (IBS) [8 months]

Bharat Business Channel Limited (BBCL) intended to launch a Direct to Home (DTH) Television service in India, BBCL is a subsidiary of Videocon group which is doing business in Consumer Electronics. D2H Services work on the Partial-Multicasting principle, hence broadcasting is software driven. To support this D2H Service, BBCL has hosted an application called “Integrated Business Solution” (IBS) which is a centralized application which controls the entire functionality of the broadcast. There are other third party applications supporting it. These applications are used to add customers, add packages to the customers, generate work order etc. using Oracle database. IBS is a 3-Tier application developed using Visual Studio 2005. The application incorporates Windows Communication Foundation (WCF) functionalities. IBS has exposed many Web Services to accomplish business logic using which we can develop our own custom made applications. It also has reports module which is built using SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS). 4. Central Finance (CFIN) [6 months]

In the initial stage of this project, I traveled to the US and the UK in Business Analyst role for requirement gathering and client interaction. It also involved creating Use Case and requirement documents, suggesting alternate solutions from functional as well as technical point of view, analyze and recommend the preferred solutions, review technical options documents, conduct functional testing, coordinate between the development team and the clients. Subsequently, I performed also as a Team Lead in this project to deliver the application.

The application, CFIN, is a standalone .Net component which is a part of a larger application for ordering CPE

(Customer Premises Equipment) over the system. It is a provisioning system application developed for British Telecom (Global Services Division). CFIN application receives XML order from the upstream component by exposing a Web Service, after receiving the order it performs validations on the order and passes it on to the suppliers who actually deliver the order. Some of the sub components of this application are CFIN GUI, AutoSender, ListnerPlus and AutoConfig etc.

5. Customer Satisfaction Survey (CSAT) [6 months]

CSAT is a Customer Feedback Process which is executed by Quality department. This application enables users to initiate a feedback and do a follow up by sending emails to the Project Teams for the necessary information regarding the customer and then sending feedback forms to the Customer. Once the Customer sends feedback it is uploaded to the database, then the appropriate action plan is set and various reports are generated. The reports help higher management in taking appropriate actions for the projects which are rated below average level by customers. This process thus helps in monitoring and controlling the QoS (Quality of Service) provided to the customers.

6. Mobile Management System (MMS) [5 months]

Mobile Management System is an internal project portal of Tech Mahindra; it is integrated with the company’s intranet. The purpose of this application is to keep track of the mobile phones that are issued to the employees when they travel to Tech Mahindra’s UK office. The various modules include Maintain Users, Mobile Application Submit, Obtain Approval (Facilitate Approval Facility by Managers), View Availability (Check Mobile Stocks), Maintain Allotment Details, Procure new handset with connections (Update Stocks), and Request for handset from employee and Return of handsets to department. Various Reports were also generated. I led the team of this project.

7. SWI - Equinox [9 months]

SWI application is a part of the project Equinox. Equinox is a Business solution for British Telecom (BT). Equinox automatically handles all kinds of BT Orders, but if the order fails to execute automatically then SWI application is used to manually fulfill the orders. SWI executes BT Retail, Whole-Sale and Global Services order types. It is a stand-alone portal which has UI layer, Business layer and a Database layer; the orders are submitted through the Web services, which place the orders in the Mainframe system. This project was executed using Agile Mythology. As a Business Analyst, I was involved in requirement gathering and report preparation.

COMPANY NAME: Disha Technologies (later Aztec Software, now Mindtree) My workplace was in the client location which was at ‘Microsoft Corporation’, Bangalore. I worked as a Senior Developer and was involved in development of Testing Automation Tools for the Windows Vista Operating System using C#.

Microsoft Support Diagnostics Tool (MSDT) for Windows Vista Operating System [13 months] MSDT was a Trouble Shooter program under the System Tools of the Windows Vista Operating System. Here we wrote C# code for Automation in Testing. In our code we called the pre-written DLLs (which executed the functions like browser open, button click etc.) and executed them in sequence as per the test cases steps.

Suppose a user had any difficulty in installing or using a Microsoft product s/he would log on to the Microsoft Help and Support Web Site (www.support.microsoft.com) chose the product and request for help by giving in the details like email ID. Then a Support Professional from Microsoft would create a Manifest and then send a URL (link) to the user through his email, when the user clicked on the link and came online to a page where a Pass Code is displayed. The user entered this in the MSDT and executed it, the MSDT collected information from the user’s machine that include some log files, registry setting etc. which was then uploaded to the file server in Microsoft. The Support Professional would then analyze the collect files and suggest a solution to the user problem. Here we tested the entire lifecycle of the Manifest. COMPANY NAME: C- Cubed Solutions

Associated with this organization as a Senior Programmer on platforms like ASP.Net, C#, SQL Server 2000 for design and development of application projects. ‘Sony’ was the main client for applications. 1. Outage Reporting System [4 months]

This is a web-based project that reports any Outage (a temporary suspension of operation of any kind) or Call disconnections that occurs in the company (a BPO) at any point of time. Anybody upto team leader and the system admin can report an outage or register a Call Disconnection. This project is used as a hotline to inform the concerned people; if any problems occurred in the day to day functioning of Networks or phone lines or any thing for that matter that hinders work. Once an outage was reported the system admin would rectify the problem and write comments, resolution and the time of resolving an outage. Thereby everyone in the company was updated about the problems. Any user could add or report an Outage but only System Admin could View, Resolve, Un-Resolve, Edit or Delete Outages. 2. Employee Life Cycle [6 months]

This software automated the entire process of the recruitment starting from conducting Interviews, training, offline process and the online process of an employee. The software was powered with features like evaluation sheet, graphical representation of the progress of employees, details regarding the certification from clients, exit and transfer forms, automated mailing alerts for specific actions, registration reports, and daily progression reports. Crystal Reports were used to Generate Reports. Visio was used to design tables. 3. Detto Call Registry System [4 months]

This was Web Based call logging software developed for the BPO firm. This software was used to log customer phone calls. This was developed for Detto Account who is in the business of selling Software

(www.Detto.com). The logging of calls was done simultaneously from 2 offices, one situated in India and the other in the US. This software provided automation right from receiving a call to providing information to the top management. When the calls were received from clients, each agent logged down the information pertaining to the client and saved the record. In order to retrieve the record at a later date; a very powerful search facility had been provided. The Data entered by various agents would be stored in a central database and later the data was exported to the Excel sheet in a segregated manner as required by the Management. Various graphs and Pie charts were generated. These charts would help the management to make conclusions and future decisions on policy matters.

4. Easy Share [4 months]

This was a web based Intranet project that enables the management and employees to share files and folders across the intranet. Various permissions like reading, writing, accessing, creating and deleting files and folders were given to various users based on their user login ID. It was a highly secured way to share information in an organization. The user could upload and download files from the folders only if he had the rights. 5. Apex Digital Call Registry System [3 months]

This was similar software as mentioned above, developed for Apex Digital Account of the BPO firm. The project was modified to suit the requirement. XML file was used as a database to store values. COMPANY NAME: British Oxygen Company - Edwards (BOC Edwards) 1. CPR (Commercialization Process Review) [4 months] BOC Edwards has a Product Commercialization Procedure. It was used by all project teams within UK group and was managed by the Commercialization Project Review Team, which met once in a month to review all projects. At every stage the project was reviewed and feasibility of the project was studied. Every month the Project Leaders were supposed to fill in data related to the project in a preformatted excel sheet, this software read various Excel Sheet and did the following, 1. Compared the initially allocated project material and the Actual Project material spent; 2. Checked if the manpower hired exceeded the limit that was initially planned. Various graphs were generated using which the management would get the Idea as to which way current projects are heading.

It was a good learning experience to interact with British associates in this project and to understand their requirements and deliver.

2. EPPDR (Electronic Personal Performance and Development Review) [4 months] This project was used to evaluate Employee’s performance in the company. This project automated the process of evaluating the employee that in turn helps the HR department to decide upon giving appraisals to the Employee. In Multinational companies HR department cannot keep a track of individual Performances, so this software helps to do that task easier using the Intranet facility. There were two versions of the Project, one was online and the other offline, online version was developed in ASP and the Offline version was VB Based. We had a Intranet of BOC Edwards, a senior manager would log into the intranet to download the person’s or subordinate’s details, did evaluation, put the comments on it and upload his feedback back to the internet so that other concerned people could view it.

3. Auto DSN (Data Source Name) Creation Software [10 Days] This program created a DSN (Data Source Name) for a Database at run time. This was a stand-alone application program which when executed created a DSN. This could be used along with any ASP or VB based programs. This program came in handy where the client did not have any knowledge of the system, or he was in a remote location, all he needed to do was run this application program. It was small enough to be sent even as an email Attachment.

COMPANY NAME: Creative Infotech

1. Invoice Print DLL for ASP Based Projects [2 months] Developed DLL Component for an ASP based package. This is an Invoice Printing Module, wherein the user could just call the DLL and pass the parameter (Invoice Number), the DLL did all the calculations and printed the Invoice Details. It also took care of the multi page printing as well. 2. Contact Management System for Danish Embassy [5 Months] This project was developed for Danish Embassy in Bangalore and was installed in all the Danish Embassies all over the world. This software was used to keep track of all the various projects and their details, which were undertaken by the private organizations in that entire country funded by the embassy. Some of the features of this software include; an in-built Web Browsing and Email facilities, we could export text matter from this software to a Word Document file and save it to the Hard Disk to use it later. It had a very powerful search facility. We had given six various combination criteria on which search could be conducted and results displayed. Using this user could search literally any thing from the database. It had also the facilities to generate various kinds of reports. It could print Labels, which can be used to send letters. 3. DLL for ASP Based Projects [3 months]

In this project, DLL Components were developed for an ASP package. This Module was used for communication, wherein the user can send messages to each other on the network. This also had Schedule reminder module attached to it, so that the user could set the time and date to be reminded. When the Date and Time was up, the program would automatically pop up a message. This program would always be running in the back ground as soon as the system turned on. COMPANY NAME: FORD INDIA LTD

We developed various software scripts on ‘MfgPro’ ERP application. Here we had an online interaction with FORD Daventry, ENGLAND on day-to-day basis. We had an online 24 connection with England Ford Motor Company. We used to order for Ford car parts to that company and distribute that to all over India to the car dealers from whom we had received purchase orders.
