Responsibilities included providing medical coverage during sustained combat operations while deployed, training and treating all members of the platoon, acting as Scout/Sniper, point-man and observer. Medical care consisted of trauma, triage and preparing Marines for evacuation. Other medical duties included: combat casualty/first aid training, suturing, diagnosing and treating illnesses, and preventative medicine.
