Depressurize the water cooler and drain out the remaining liquid.

Box-out the units. Remove the protection covers, both end plugs and piping.

Cut and remove all tubes from the respective tubesheet.

Insert new tubes, expand tubes end by mechanical expansion of tube sheet joints.

Perform hydrotest and hold for 60 minutes. Remove all blind spades and reconnect the flanges connection. All corroded bolts/nuts and gaskets to be changed.

Carry out leak check / monitoring during start-up and touch-up painting.

Rig down project equipments, housekeeping and handover the units to Operation.

i. Plan to commence: 10 days

Nanocoating Trial Onboard Baram Offshore, BAK-B

New method for pipe insulation instead of using conventional insulation for eliminating CUI problem without compromising health and safety.

Project Summary

Isolate and depressurize the unit and drain out remaining fluids.

Install positive isolation. Set up close loop/circulation system.

Soaking the unit with biodegradable cleaning chemical, Citric Acid descaler (STE-3) and Neutralizer/Passivator (DE-2). Flush the unit with potable water.

Carry out maintenance cleaning using high pressure water jetting, and then perform Ultrasonic Thickness Gauging Test, Dye Penetrant Test and Videoscope/Boroscope inspection.

Carry out leak test on the unit.

Remove positive isolation, change-out gaskets and bolt/nuts. Perform bolt tightening.

Dismantle temporary platform, remove positive isolation, change-out gaskets and bolt/nuts. Perform bolt tightening.

Isolate and depressurize the unit and drain out remaining fluids.

Erect temporary platform. Then, install positive isolation.

Purging using nitrogen gas (N2) and carry out gas test by authorized personnel before open manhole.

Open manhole and TENORM inspection by other contractor. Setup air ventilation to maintain the level of gas inside the vessel.

Perform cleaning inside the vessels and internal side inspected by other contractor.

Reinstate manhole, remove positive isolation, change-out gaskets and bolt/nuts. Carry out purging using N2 gas.

Dismantle temporary platform, housekeeping, standby for start-up and handover the unit to operation.

i. Plan to commence: 10 days.

Remove the header plug from header box using impact wrench (required air supply).

Mix the degreaser with water. Carry out cleaning inside the tubes using the high pressure water jet.

Carry out IRIS and videoscope inspection to check the condition of tubes.

Carry out non-destructive testing such as ultrasonic thickness gauge test and dye penetrant test of header box and nozzle of the cooler.

Replace with new stud bold, gasket, header plug and washer. Also, apply the new paint.
