Project 3:-

Project Title: Study of GE-FANUC PLC and Sensors.

Project Duration: 1 month

Organisation: Tata Iron and Steel Company Ltd., Jamshedpur

Project Description: The Programable Logic Controller(PLC) installed at G-blast furnace of Tata Steel is programed with Ladder Logic, Normally Open, Normally Close and 555 Timer in such a way that after every 5 seconds it use to send an active high pulse to air blower connected to it,which sends air through air pipe at the 160 bar and removes the carbon blokage at it's front end.The Carbon gets accumulated everytime in the air pipe during chemical reactions inside G-Blast furnace, therefore it must be removed by some means.Between 1990-1998 relay switch was used for this purpose,but science they are subjected to high electrical and mechanical noise and get heated very easily therefore in year 1999 it is replaced by field Programable Device Called “PLC”. “Sensors” are merged between Railway Tracks to sense wheather the material coming to Tata Steel from Nuamundi mines is Capacitive or Inductive in nature.

Project Title: Study of Power Line Carrier Communication(PLCC).
