Form Grinder

Manufacture milling cutter form tools using a surface grinder and mylars to tolerances of .005 of an inch keeping the form to the mylar, manufacture cutters from M42 steel, and various parts for machines in the plant. Made precision quality gauges to tolerances of .0002 of an inch, while holding the proper form from a mylar.

Back-off Lathes

Manufacture milling cutters from M42 blanks and stamping identification on each cutter, then heat treating them and checking Rockwell hardness to make sure within specs. When times were slow I had to polish coining

dies, heat treating coining dies, turn down old cutter blanks to smaller reusable size, manufacturing parts for other various machines in the plant using milling machines, lathes, surface grinders, drill presses and various hand tools.

Walter Grinder HMC 400-CNC grinding machine used to make milling cutters out of carbide blanks to tolerances of .005 of an inch using form wheels. Duties also included reshaping and sharpening reamers, drill bits, and specialty cutters, some remanufacturing of cutters to new sizes and specs.

Sometimes filling in for mold operators and toggle operators that were absent to keep customer quantity at a level to prevent air shipments from having to be made.

Performed preventative maintenance on molds, pull and repair molds to customer specs, use milling machines, lathes, drill presses, TIG welders, surface grinders, calipers, micrometers, height gauges, hand tools, files, profilers, high speed hand grinders, check and reset as needed the parameters on injection presses, check the die cuts to make sure they were to spec. Check stock to mylar for proper dimensions and set up and run new product modules, make customer samples and pack for shipping.
