COMPANY PROJECT SUMMARY:

Project 1: DSAS

Objective: To calculate the erosion and accretion of the shoreline near Tiruchendur coast

We have model developed by United States Geological Survey (USGS) named as DSAS which stands for Digital Shoreline Analysis System is being used to calculate the rate of erosion and accretion of the shoreline. This project will help us to assess the coastal hazards and to manage the Coastal Regulation Zone (CRZ).

Key Responsibility:

I have personally handled the entire project; hence all tasks involved in this project was designed, analysed and developed by me.

To gather data we have analyze data in USGS server and collected few which we required for project and finalized satellite images for four decades

Changing rate of shoreline was assessed using Digital Shoreline Analysis System (DSAS)

Calculated Erosion and Accretion of shoreline for specific period and generate reports daily/weekly/monthly bases.

Project 2: High resolution DEM

Objective: Analyze the elevation of the Paradip coast

NIO uses the Leica Photogrammetric Suit to build the elevation model using stereo-pair remote sensing images to derive the elevation which will be used to analyze the topography of the coast and inundation can be monitored

Key Responsibility:

Project has been handled individually in which stereo-pair of Cartosat images has been used

The elevation for the study area was derived using Leica Photogrammetric Suit; DGPS points were integrated for control point and elevation was derived.

Platform: ArcGIS Desktop, Digital Shoreline Analysis System (DSAS), Quantum GIS, ENVI 4.7, ERDAS IMAGINE 2013, Leica Photogrammetric Suit

PROFESSIONAL SUMMARY 2:

Company : Indian Institute of Technology Bombay

Role : Junior Research Fellow

COMPANY PROJECT SUMMARY:

Project 1: Hydrological Modeling

Objective of this project is to develop a fine resolution remote sensing and GIS based distributed hydrological Model for the upper basin of Bhima river to evaluate the soil erosion and sediment yield of the catchment so that a new strategy can be set up to control the soil erosion and make proper utilization of water resources. The project was sponsored by Department of Science and Technology, Government of India.

Key Responsibility:

Project was handled individually by me to run the model ArcSWAT (Soil and Water Assessment Tool)

Generation of thematic maps which includes land use land cover and soil map

Selection of appropriate DEM to insert in the model

Preparation of meteorological data and Look Up Table of all the layers

Running of the model and validation of the model

New methodology was developed to prepare the land use land cover maps

Platform: ArcGIS Desktop, MapWindow, ArcSWAT, Quantum GIS, ENVI 4.7, ERDAS IMAGINE 2013, Leica Photogrammetric Suit

PROFESSIONAL SUMMARY 3:

Company : Maharashtra Remote Sensing Application Centre

Role : Remote Sensing and GIS Associate

COMPANY PROJECT SUMMARY:

Project 1: Geology and Mining

Objective of this project is to generate a geodatabase containing the Geology and Mineral information of the state of Maharashtra and the boundary of mining leases were mapped.

Key Responsibility:

Project was handled individually by me to prepare the geodatabase and prepare interactive maps

Geodatabase of the Geology and Mining was prepared, Geology maps were prepared using Geological Survey of India toposheets and mineral locations were marked with the help of toposheets, satellite image and the secondary information

Mining lease boundaries were prepared using previous maps

Geodatabase was customized with an hyperlink to represent the information of the mineral location and the photographs to represent the ground situation

Project 2: Zudpi Jungle Encroachment

Objective of this project is to find the encroachment done on the zudpi (Shrubs) jungle of Vidarbha region of the Maharashtra and analyze the encroachment pattern

Key Responsibility:

Explored the encroachment area of the jungle

Analyzed the pattern of encroachment i.e., agriculture, built up, etc and include it in the database

preparation of thematic map represent the encroached area

Project 3: Land Use Land Cover map of the Nagpur city

Objective of this project is to map the LULC of the Nagpur city for three different periods and detect the changes in city to prepare further plans for the development of the city

Key Responsibility:

Prepare LULC map of LULC map of Nagpur city for 2001, 2005 and 2010

Detect the changes took place within and outside the city

Studied morphological impact on the city

Platform: ArcGIS Desktop, Quantum GIS, ERDAS IMAGINE 2013
