Graduate Research Assistant @ Renewable energy, Industrial automation, and Precision engineering (RIP) Laboratory, University of Hawaii at Manoa, Honolulu, HI – Jan. 2015 ~ Present

This work involves the design, construction, and evaluation of a cost efficient plant growing and monitoring enclosure with active environmental control. The objective of this design is to provide the capability to create a completely stable environment for a 100 plant sample size to grow for a period of 3 months in a chamber. In addition, this chamber will actively gather plant growth data with an automated mass measurement system and watering system which a target weight is defined for 10 different groups. The main objective is to develop a device with strong operational reliability, increased capability, and relatively compact than similar devices on the market while at a significantly lower cost and complexity.
