Multi- threaded
Sorting
Application
SJSU,
Fall
2015
• Developed
a
multi- threaded
sorting
application,
which
takes
a
list
of
integers
as
input
and
splits
them
into two
sub
lists.
Two
threads
are
used
to
sort
these
sub
lists
and
another
to
merge
the
sub
lists
into
a
single sorted
list.
This
is
implemented
using
Merge
Sort
algorithm
in
C++.
• The
aim
of
this
project
was
to
prove
that
multi- threading
improves
the
performance
of
a
process.
For
this we developed the code for Merge Sort with threads and without threads and made a comparison between
the
time
elapsed
to
output
the
sorted
list
of
numbers. Client- Server
Chat
Application
Fall
2014
• Implemented
a
client- server
chat
application
in
Java
in
which
multiple
clients
exchange
messages
with
one another. The server does the job of getting all the
messages from different clients connected to it and broadcasting them to all clients. Socket programming is used in establishing the connection and
multi- threading
concept
is
used
to
manage
the
messages
among
various
clients. ZigBee

System
Mumbai

Project
• The project aims at providing a low cost, convenient and easy to use self- service order system for restaurants
using
ZigBee
protocol
to
ensure
secure
data
transmission.
• Interfaced
an
8- bit
microcontroller
with
ZigBee
module,
keypad
and
LCD
unit. Refrigerator
Door
Alarm
Mumbai
University,
2012 Electronic
Hardware
Workshop
Project
• Designed
a
prototype
circuit
that
beeps
if
the
fridge
door
is
left
open
for
too
long
or
if
it
hasn't
been
closed properly.
• It
makes
use
of
two
555
timer
IC’s,
which
are
wired
as
astable
multivibrators,
a
Piezo
electric
buzzer
and an
LDR
which
is
connected
in
parallel
to
the
timing
capacitor.
• When
door
is
left
open,
the
lamp
inside
the
fridge
will
keep
glowing,
circuit
will
be
actuated
and
a
warning tone
is
sounded
until
the
door
is
closed
again. Skin
Response
Meter
Mumbai
University,
2012 Electronic
Hardware
Workshop
Project
• The circuit deals with the concept of resistance offered by the skin. It measures the changes in skin resistance following the changes in
mental state.
The
human skin
offers some resistance to current
and voltage
and
this
resistance
changes
with
the
emotional
state
of
the
body.
• The
circuit
uses
a
sensitive
amplifier
to
sense
variations
in
the
skin
resistance.
IC
CA3140
is
designed
as
a resistance- to- voltage
converter
that
outputs
varying
voltage
based
on
the
skin's
conductivity.
It
is
wired
as an inverting
amplifier
to
generate
constant
current
to
skin in
order
to
measure
the
skin
resistance.
Thus, with
the
help
of
this
simple
circuit
it
is
possible
to
detect
a
person’s
emotional
state. SKILLS
