NRG Energy, Inc. 2006 to 2013

Controller – Development - NRG Energy, Inc. (2011-2013)

Managed the preparation of audited financial statements and related footnotes for over 12 standalone project level financial statements for project lenders, including three multi-billion dollar projects with Department of Energy (DOE) loan guarantees for an S&P 500 - Independent Power Producer.

Successfully led an initial public offering of NRG Yield Inc. (NYSE:NYLD) a carve out of NRG’s contracted renewable, conventional and Thermal infrastructure assets, pricing above the initial range and raising close to $500 million in selling a 34.5% interest in NYLD to the public. Responsibilities included drafting the SEC registration statement Form S-1, working with lead underwriters BAML, GS and CITI as well as company and underwriters outside counsel on disclosures. Performed valuation analysis with underwriters and prepared Board of Directors’ and Roadshow presentations.

Responsible for financial planning and analysis, budgeting and forecasting for company’s development initiatives.

Reviewed and coordinated with external auditors in audit of financial statements with footnotes for project lenders.

Prepared quarterly earnings press release for NYLD, as well as liaised on SEC Form 10Q with functional departments within the organization as well as with external auditors.

Responsible for monthly and quarterly close process and review of all account reconciliations, as well as presentations to senior management.

Prepared development summary reports for Board of Directors meeting.

Controller – Offshore Wind subsidiary of NRG Energy, Inc. (2010-2011)

Led integration of an acquired offshore wind development entity from accounting for the purchase price allocated to the acquired net assets through the implementation of accounting system to the development of SOX controls.

Responsible for timely and accurate production of the financial results of the Offshore Wind Group.

Prepared the annual budget and quarterly forecast for the Offshore Wind Group.

Responsible for all accounting and financial controls as well as accounting policy and research for the Offshore Wind Group. Additionally acted as liaison between Company’s external auditors and Offshore Wind Group.

Managed the preparation of the earnings call process as well as the preparation of the annual budget and quarterly forecast process. Supervised a team of 4 analysts.

Prepared the earnings press release with accompanying slide deck and script talking points for the CFO for the Company’s quarterly earnings call. Also prepared cheat sheets for the CFO.
