Technical Experience

2009.04~2011.07 Core developer Research and development on real-time embedded operating system

Building a real-time operating system (Linux+Rtai) on QEMU (a kind of simulating processor virtual machine). This is achieved by configuring cross-compiling toolchain, compiling the Linux kernel and Rtai, and starting Linux+Rtai system via QEMU

Porting the real-time embedded operating system (Linux+Rtai) to the ARM development board, and testing the performance of the system

Optimizing the memory management in the Linux+Rtai system through designing a new memory management module. The module employs a Two Level Segregate Fit dynamic memory allocation algorithm, which is good at fitting the memory allocation time with a low computational complexity (its time complexity is O(1));

Optimizing the timer management in the Linux+Rtai system through designing a new timer management module. The module organizes the timers by a linked list structure in Linux+Rtai system which avoids creating extra timer processes thereby greatly reducing the system memory cost.

Implementing supporting layer of the embedded system. Particularly, I focused on encapsulating the task management module of many operating systems, and testing the performance.
