Company: Greaves cotton ltd, Sipcot, Ranipet.

Duration: 6 days

Learning: Learned about the basic manufacturing process and assemblies of light engines and their testing procedures.

PROJECTS HANDLED

Mini project: Design and fabrication of hand lever operated hand shearing machine.

Description: It is mainly designed to cut the sheet metal with less manpower and also to minimize the difficulties of injuries while cutting the sheet metal using conventional snipers.

Main project: Optimization of emission of diesel engine operating with cooled EGR (Exhaust gas recirculation)

Description: This project is mainly aimed to reduce the NOX amount in the exhaust of the diesel engine by re-circulating a part of exhaust gas again back into the engine cylinder. Our experimental results show that 45% of the NOx can be reduced by EGR.
