Korean Aluminum Die Casting company with over 135 million in sales and two manufacturing locations in Korea, and an office in the US supplying major OEM automotive customers in Asia, North/South America and Europe

North American Program/OEM/Aftermarket Sales (2011 - present)

Provide program management leadership for the Manufacturing sites in Korea. This includes Quality, Engineering, and Sales functions in North and South America. Develop new business relationships as well as foster the current customer relationships already established. DMAX, LTD Diesel Engine Plant (General Motors-Isuzu Joint Venture)

Joint Venture between General Motors and Isuzu Motors, developed and manufactured 6.6 Diesel engine for General Motors Heavy Duty truck segment (Silverado, Sierra) as well as commercial applications . JD Powers award winner six years in a row, machining and assembly completed in Moraine, Ohio plant. Extensive travel to Asia, Europe, South America handling both planned and emergency supplier visits.

Supplier Quality Manager (2007-2011) - Lead DMAX-LTD Supplier Quality staff of seven employees five SQE’s and two staff personnel. Worked on successful launch of 2009, 2010, and 2010i diesel engine launches, direct supplier spend for 2010i was $500 million dollars. Responsible for over 350 suppliers across five continents, oversaw and managed all PPAP and APQP activities for all suppliers as well as all nonconforming parts at the manufacturing plant in Moraine, Ohio. Responsible for all PPAP and APQP activities timing of all launch programs and supply created timing delays and quality issues.

Key Results:

Launched 2009, 2010, and 2010i Diesel engines for GM on time and on budget, including over 150 new engine parts on the 2010i engine

Implemented over 15 cost saving plans in three years which lead to a total cost savings of $2.7 million completed utilizing RED X, Lean, and Six Sigma Techniques

Managed over 150 suppliers to a 100% on time launch record while at DMAX

Created plans for 35 troubled suppliers, either successfully returned troubled suppliers to green metrics, or moved to new suppliers with no interruption of part supply to DMAX

Reduced overseas high risk supplier PPM from over 50 to less than 5 in less than 2 years utilizing “Back to Basics in Quality Techniques”

Glass manufacture for Automotive, Marine, and Agriculture industries. Manufacturing facility located in Batavia, Ohio. OEM and aftermarkets serviced with both high and low volume manufacturing and assembly operations.

Quality Manager- (2002-2007) – Manage a staff of two CAD Engineers, two Quality Engineers, and six Floor Inspectors, maintaining both the TS16949 and ISO 14000 registration, Responsible for all DOT regulation documentation and ensured Auto Temp was within specification for all DOT testing. Maintained and evaluated all suppliers and supplier reviews, both at supplier locations and at Auto Temp. Responsible for all PPAP and APQP activities.

Facilitated the implementation of ISO/ TS 16949 inside of one year creating a net savings of $95,000 realized in one year

Devised and implemented a new blueprint system which improved production efficiency by 25% resulting in cost savings of over $250,000

Launched all OEM programs on budget and on time for 5 years
