Reefer conversions is a start-up company that converts diesel powered mobile refrigeration units to electrically powered. They are making huge strides in reducing the
consumption of fossil fuels, one converted trailer will save approx. 50 gallons of diesel fuel a day.
The job was mostly fabrication and production based. Everyday job functions included Welding, Grinding, Cutting and drilling.
My primary job function was Diesel engine removal and electric motor installation.
In this role I was performing both mechanic and fabricator duties. I would prep the diesel engine for removal and retrieve it myself with the use of a forklift.
I gained experience installing heavy gauge wiring and high voltage battery packs.
