Sr. Design Engineer 2014 to 2015

Designed subsea/offshore products. Evaluated the feasibility/safety of product with FEA, actual load test and regulatory code (API). Documented client support reports (FAT, product manuals and evaluation) and manufacturing procedure (work order, ingredient formula)

Provided design inputs, including optimized geometric profile and stress analysis for subsea drilling products: 3 major projects (+$30 Millions. gross total).

Evaluated/Validated the safety and feasibility of product. For example, provided confidence of product by giving actual load (300 kips) test and FEA (Ansys) report to a client who had had the doubt of product feasibility. Thanks to successful result/report, the project (+$10 Millions) closed with minimum design revision.

Generated FEA and calculated damage cause factor for RCA to define the responsibility of +$1.8 Million repair cost.

Developed drilling riser hardware(stop collar, retaining buoyancy module): generated FEA and calculated maximum pre-load to define design requirements(bolt type/size and weld type/size)

Validated/modified mold geometries against higher internal pressure based off regulatory codes (ASME, API and PED): molding pressure increased by +150% (saved molding time by +30%)

Arranged/negotiated/interpreted between company and major Korean EPC companies: Arrange/lead project meeting with Korean companies, supervised on site repair process in Korea.
