Advanced Technology Services
December, 2003 Present (12 years 1 months)
Develop PLC programs and graphic display interfaces using Rockwell Automation, Modicon Momentum, and Direct Logic products
Trouble shoot PLC's, VFD's, temperature, pressure, flow, torque, and power measurement devices
Plan and schedule maintenance based on work order system to include time and material ensuring production schedules are not interrupted
Lead teams of technicians in repair activities, planned maintenance, and projects from initial planning throughout the process to completion.
Develop software, graphic interface, BOM, material procurement, component layout and electrical prints, scope of work and functional specifications.
Operate, troubleshoot, and repair roller, chain, and overhead suspended arm conveyor systems. Various configurations include under floor, floor level, and elevated conveyors to move product through the automated production process.
Hydraulic lift tables, ball screw extension tables, hydraulic conveyor transition lift tables, tilt tables, hydraulic ram pushers, hydraulic clamping cylinders, and hydraulic positioning pushers.
These systems use Allen Bradley SLC 500, Compact Logix L32E and L35E processors, Allen Bradley Powerflex drives of various HP range from 2 HP to 50 HP. We use Parker and Cross hydraulic units, controls, and cylinders.
Certified metrology calibration technician expert with pressure transducers, thermocouples, RTD’s, flow meters, explosive gas sensors, tension and compression load cells, torque, and power meters.
Maintain and troubleshoot high volume direct fire MAU’s, inducted fan high volume exhaust systems, chillers, and Evapco cooling towers. Designed Allen Bradley network based PLC control system including HMI’s that replaced three Andover standalone controllers. Network based controllers allowed for system to monitor need of facility support based on heat rejection loads. Pumps and fans were changed over on off contactors to VFD’s controlled by PID loops. Utility cost savings from water/sewage/electrical usage averaged $3000/monthly at a 421,000 sq. foot facility.
Operate and maintain low voltage switchgear, power distribution, and motor control centers <600V. Operate and maintain medium voltage switchgear and power transformers 3160V to 14,400V. Responsible for power meters and data acquisition of power control devices and safety relays related to utility power and backup generator, ATS, and UPS.
Conduct and analyze testing data to ensure quality certification of assembled product to exceed quality standards
Calibrate, maintain, and troubleshoot instrumentation for power, pressure, temperature, flow, strain, and safety related interlocks
Launched a new line of production testing process from conception. Project saved warranty hits over 100K in the first year with an implementation cost of 15K. Developed all layout and one line diagram prints to include component identification, wiring lists, and control ladder logic. Project was identified by corporate managers as broad range corporate savings which led to the deployment in other facilities.
Produce drawings and component layout designs using AutoCad and AutoCad Electrical. Design power distribution drawings, motor control center, and UPS distribution system drawings. Create wiring lists and one line drawing for control systems, metering, and instrumentation. Utilize library of objects and create components for libraries, insert objects from OEM designs and other source objects. Create an insert BOM items for parts lists and item identification and descriptions. Designed numerous panel layouts for projects that technicians use to assemble and wire projects.
Process Improvement through Six Sigma the saved the customer 120K in downtime from aging equipment failure. Designed changes and component layouts including demolition. Provided prints to include bill of materials. No impact to production occurred utilizing the change at a cost of only 12K.
Worked with team of Managers and Engineers to design multimillion dollar test cells for quality testing. From design concept to turnkey operation, personally designed electrical component layout and one line diagrams for power distribution, dc power bus, ac power bus, and digital I/O.
