Manage and maintain budget.

BREONICS, Inc., Albany, NY Research Scientist, Laboratory Supervisor 01/09 – 08/14

Bio-medical R & D of products for the clinical organ transplantation and tissue replacement markets and of novel technologies in the fields of tissue engineering, regenerative medicine and immunomodulation.

Lead Research Scientist in the company under the Chief Scientific Officer.

Developed and optimized medical device and biologic (ex vivo warm perfusion machine and perfusate), in the translational effort from use in large animals to use in humans for the expansion of donor criteria to increase the number of transplantable kidneys.

R & D of an immunomodulating technology (Immunocloak™) preventing allo-recognition by coating the surface of the vasculature of transplanted organs with a non-immunogenic protein matrix.

Developed prognostic utilizing cytokine levels to predict graft function of an organ pre-transplant.

Developed and designed experimental protocols, SOPs, assays, and documentation to assure GLP, GMP, GCP, quality control and analytical precision is maintained within the laboratory. The laboratory was ultimately under the scrutiny of the FDA and NIH in preparations for human clinical trials.

Developed, analyzed, wrote, and presented research, plans, and proposals/grants. Involved in critical roles which led to receiving NIH SBIR Phase I (R43), Phase II (R44), and RC3 grants. Philip Glowacki, continued Page 2

Presented research at National and International forums.

Trained in cold and near-normothermic organ/tissue perfusion and preservation, as well as in surgical techniques in the procurement and perfusion of large animal and human organs/tissues.

Proficient and experienced in sterile handling and processing biologic materials, from receiving crude samples and tissues, to targeted cell isolation, phenotyping, protein purification, mass cell culture and media optimization.

CNSE at SUNY Albany, Albany, NY Research Scientist, Consulting Biochemist 06/08 – 11/08

Supervised and guided Ph.D. candidates; directed R & D efforts to optimize a minimally invasive epidermal patch bio-sensor capable of real-time and continuous multi-analyte sensing.

Product design and the optimization of various manufacturing techniques including photolithography and enzyme deposition.

Eliminated lot to lot variation of sensing elements by synthesizing a covalently bound enzyme with polymer and standardizing its’ electrolytic deposition.

My participation in the project resulted in optimization and the functioning of the bio-sensor leading to a product ready for in-vivo experimentation.
