Process Engineer III – Advanced Process Technology
Johns Manville is a global glass manufacturing company, where I work for the Engineered Products Division.
Working with internal customers to develop world class analytical tools for real-time monitoring of the glass making processes from raw material through product finishing and packaging. Working with Python, SAS, JMP, SQL, HTML5, Tableau, as other languages needed to convey the metrics needed to make business decisions.
Accomplishments
Created a machine learning model of incoming raw material through the furnace to model the impact of upsets to raw material specifications to the glass forming process. This model allowed us to increase first pass yield from 87% to 94%.
Created sets of Python libraries and Python Notebooks to streamline the retrieval of data from several databases, time match the data, and analyze the data for trends and to investigate process upsets.
Performed lean six sigma training to train green belts in advanced statistics and the black belt tool sets.
