ANGARAI SRINIVASAN SRIDHAR

PROFILE

Geologist with +25 years of experience in sedimentology, reservoir characterization of siliciclastic and unconventional shale reservoirs and operations geology. Recent experience includes detailed petrographic work on various shale reservoirs and integrating data from regional to core to nano scale using thin section and FESEM.

EXPERIENCE

Core Laboratories, Houston, TX Senior Geologist Aug 2009 – Mar 2015

Responsibilities included core description and petrographic characterization of different Gas Shale reservoirs and integrating petrographic and petro physical data into final report as part of Joint Industry projects and special proprietary projects:

Developed classification schemes for consistent lithotype identifications for challenging unconventional rocks using petrography, XRD and SEM/EDS data.

Delineated different lithofacies from Marcellus, Eagleford, Eaglebine, Woodford, Bakken, Montney and Duvernay Formations based on integration of core and log parameters for leading operators in the industry.

Specialized in characterizing mineral associations, diagenetic history and porosity types of different gas shale formations using Field Emission scanning electron microscope and argon ion milled samples combined with high resolution thin section imaging.

Studies on conventional SEM samples to characterize the Powder River Basin Shannon Formation and Wilrich River River Basin tight sandstones showed quartz overgrowth cements occluding pores in both Formations.

Natural and artificial fractures were recorded to aid deciphering fracture propagation in wells along with fracture conductivity tests for proppant embedment.

Fluid sensitivity screening using CST and RO testing were carried out for the shale formations.

Terra Tek, Schlumberger, Houston, TX Senior Petrologist Sep 2006 – Mar 2009

Responsibilities included petrographic studies of Gas Shale formations using thin sections and SEM

And integrating the data with geochemical and geomechanical properties:

Characterized lithotypes from Marcellus, Woodford, Haynesville and Montney Shale Formations.

Organic content and porosity distribution was worked out for different lithofacies.

Facilitated in correlating well performance integrating geomechanical properties.

Familiarized with high tech processing techniques using Ion Beam coater to study shales using back scatter SEM procedures.

HP/Compaq Computers, Houston, TX Systems/Software Engineer Apr 1999 – Sep 2006

Gained expertise in SWAT and WAT testing and was part of different test groups handling several Consumer and Commercial Notebook PC products. Developed test strategies to ensure timely delivery of quality products.

Baker Hughes Inteq, Houston, TX Mudlogger May 1997 – Sep 1997

Served as Mudlogger in different wells of the OCS blocks in the Gulf of Mexico. Monitored drilling and geological parameters and collected samples. Worked with DMS and DRILLBYTE software packages on UNIX.

ONGC, India Geologist Jul 1981 – Dec 1996

Deputy Superintending Geologist Jan 1991 – Dec 1996

Senior Geologist Jan 1987 – Dec 1990

Geologist Jul 1981 – Dec 1986

Responsibilities included working in the Institute of Petroleum Exploration and Regional Geological laboratories doing sedimentological work and wellsite operations at one of the premier onshore producing fields of Western India:

Worked on clastic as well as carbonate rocks but primarily as a clastic sedimentologist.

Carried out detailed megascopic and microscopic, including SEM studies, petrographic work on core and cutting samples from exploratory and development wells of multiple Indian basins and fields.

Detailed core descriptions along with thin section petrography and XRD data were used in establishing the lthostratigraphy and depositional environments.

Carried out petrographic studies and recreated diagenetic history on reservoir to basinal scales. Integrated these studies with biostratigraphic data to build depositional history.

Inferred Krishna Godavari Basin sediments to be deposited under deltaic conditions while Cauvery Basin sediments showed development of carbonate facies typically absent within the Krishna Godavari sediments.

Provided key inputs to regional paeogeographic and lithofacies mapping and support for exploratory programs of the region.

Supervisor of geological operations of eighteen drilling rigs in south Cambay Basin with thirty geologists working under my supervision and mentorship.

Responsible for approving well prognosis as well as other important data acquisition programs like coring & wire line logging. Responsible for identifying test zones & recommending overall testing policy.

2D-3D seismic and test data from hundreds of exploratory and development wells drilled in Gandhar and Ankleshwar fields were integrated in prospect identification.
