o Transaction Repository and Data Warehousing (TRDW) is one of First Data Debit Services’ self built data Warehousing application, comprises of a 24x7 batch application built on Pro*C, this system writes to the database the ATM/POS transactions logged by North-East Switch at near real-time. The system is also capable of matching the dependant transactions (reversals/purchase completions) to its corresponding original transactions (withdrawals/pre-authorization transactions). This data warehouse provides ability clients to view their respective banking transactions through a client user interface called New Star Station (NSS). Data in the warehouse is also used for various data reporting to clients through files transmitted using Network Data Mover (NDM). All the GUI applications will fetch data through procedures and function.
o Real-Time Enterprise Data (RED) is a system where the transformed data of transaction warehouse resides. The system comprises of 24x7 Pro*C batch application and a database which resides multiple level summary of transaction data. This data enables Client teams in assessing the Switch Processor Interface (PI) performance and ATM/POS transaction activities.
o Fraud Risk Identification Program (FRIS) system which scores transactions for fraud using a third-party application called FALCON Fraud Manager. The system comprises of components to load STAR transactions into database, FALCON processes to score transactions, create Fraud Cases for Fraud Analysts’ review and also an interface to Omaha Dialer.
o Card Database (CRD) is a repository of customer cards data for which is replicated from a Tandem system called “CMA (Card Management) through Shadow-base replication software.
o Summary Totals Repository (STOR) is another client proprietary self modeled data warehousing system where transaction summary details/customer billing and interchange fee level revenue details are extracted, transformed and loaded to database. This data is available for customer viewing and as well to client management through a GUI interface.
o MAC Billing is a First Data Debit Services’ billing system and refers to Money Access Control Billing system. The Billing system is used for billing the First Data Corporation’s clients for the various services they provide to the clients (participants).
o IRS refers to Interchange Reporting system for First Data Debit Services and is used for calculating the interchange fee (fee charged for transacting on other ATMs) on every transaction
Following are some of the activities/projects carried out :
• Worked with Business Analysts and users to frame and finalize the requirements.
• Performed Knowledge Transition Assessment and also was involved in obtaining transition of above systems during the timeframe of April-August 2008.

o Update the existing sql and PL/SQL block to be incompatible with Oracle 11g

• As the subject matter expert of the IRS system, I was engaged with one of First Data’s Strategic Consultant in a critical product decision exercise for the client. This exercise involved multiple iterations of creating different model for the client to see the effect of the interchange rate changes. The outcome of the exercise was new competitive rates the client can impose on their customers for STAR POS transactions. This also enabled the client to enroll new customers for the year.
