Metals Buyer (Contract)

Volkswagen automotive plant responsible for metals commodity. Accomplished Negotiations of North America (Mexico and Chattanooga) Metals price reduction which includes models such as Jetta, Golf, Passat and all other current and future models produced in both plants. Created metals parts process flow chart for all metals commodity parts. This includes all current and future stamped part material specs, price break down, process, location, logistic from Mill to Stampers. Responsible for all metals fasteners for current and future models for Volkswagen Chattanooga. Other responsibilities includes supplier localization, evaluation of suppliers, development, reconcile any vendor payments and more.

Buyer II/Business Analyst

Specialty manufacturing plant for various types of water valves ranging from 8” to 196”. Purchasing includes different types and grades of steel, casting (United States, China & Thailand), when necessary out sourcing machining jobs, rubber lining and actuators/motors (domestic and international). These processes were accomplished through JDE and self-developed Excel to execute the MRP cycle, requisitioning and releasing dependent demands for supply base. Cost saving project $4.476, 608 (32.6%) through strategic sourcing. Create and release purchase orders for materials needed to support scheduled production to maximize cash flow as well as MRO/Capital Equipment Purchasing. This was done by managing inventory counts and make decisions on necessary adjustments to insure achievement of the plant and company targets.

Advanced Purchasing Analyst (Global Purchasing)

Responsibilities include maintenance and analysis of purchasing duties through internal/external customers. Position functions includes price negotiation, global invoicing issues, managing material rejection reports, tooling records, supplier data and measurements; performing analytical and administrative tasks in support of Global Purchasing initiative and QCLDM. Requires working with site/facilities personnel, manager, buyer and suppliers to ensure efficiency in Caterpillar’s process flow. Subject matter expert includes a Six Sigma project with the potential Cost savings of $2 million for Transportations process and tariff of goods from Japan to United States to Australia. Also, lead a team, sponsored by the Vice President, utilizing the different techniques of Six Sigma to find the root causes of poor supplier shipping performances. As result improved one of Global Segment supplier shipping performances from 65% to 91%, this was the highest performance amongst less than 10 Segment Managers for Caterpillar, which subsequently helped the company improve its overall shipping performance.

Purchasing Manager of LG™ Electronics MobileComm USA packaging plant. Inventory management of import and domestic goods value over $900 million, Bill of Material (BOM) process/analysis, FTZ Zone, material market analysis of Domestic Cost Incentive (Cost savings 6.9%).
