Human Resources Manager –Responsible for all HR functions in union facility for 250 hourly employees in 3 bargaining units and 35 salaried exempt and nonexempt. Functioned as HR business partner in the corporate realignment of plant management structure.

Achievements:

Took over HR department that lacked basic functional structure and redesigned processes to fit business needs.

Reduced third step grievances by 70% through relationship building with local leadership.

Human Resources Manager –Responsible for all HR functions for multi-plant operation comprising union and nonunion plants: Employee/labor relations, recruitment, hiring, safety, workers’ compensation, EEO/Affirmation Action, payroll administration, recordkeeping, benefits administration and training.

Achievements:

Acted as change agent in the closing of a plant facility and integration of half the workforce into new facility with a changed organizational culture. No subsequent charges or legal actions ensued and new plant significantly improved in productivity and safety performance.

Spearheaded local activities in payroll conversion to Ceridian HRIS/Payroll system.

Created AAP’s and passed OFCCP Desk Audits.

Defeated union organizing campaign then replaced temp employees with direct hires when assumed HR responsibility for new plant.

5/90-10/97 Tennessee Wheelchair Athletic Association; Nashville, TN

Director – Managing director for fundraising activities of nonprofit with call centers in Nashville, Chattanooga and Knoxville. Supervised all operations with 7 direct reports and 25-50 indirect, including hiring, training, administration and payroll as well as government and donor liaison. Left to relocate for husband’s job.
