Project details:
The Pharmacy Accounts Receivable System (PARS) system is used to ensure that Walgreens gets paid for every prescription it fills. It handles the claims made by customer while purchasing medicines. These claims are provided by the insurance companies to the customers. The insurance companies provide the amount of these claims to the bank and in turn bank provides the amount to PARS. PARS primarily take care of the rebilling of the claims which did not match with the deposits received from the bank.
The main functionalities of PARS are:
• To load the claims in the database.
• To load the Remittance Advice in the PARS Database.
• To load the deposits in the PARS Database.
• To load the plan information in the PARS Database.
• Apply deposits to RA.
• Apply RA to claims.
• Adjustments.
• Billing
• Collections
• Payment Exceptions
• Billing Exceptions
• Operational Management Reporting
Client systems have a document producing engine called Medical Document Tracking System (MDTS) for purpose of generating documents that are in line with all the government norms and providing it to the government on demand. The government’s stand on the exhaustive documentation is justified by the fact that majority of the population are subscribed under the Federal social insurance program – Medicare.
MDTS strengths can be listed as below:
•Reduces manual effort
•Tracking of documentation
•Interface with Allwin (Emdeon) for Medicare billing.
•Auto Fax out to Doctors.

Project details:
i)Automation of Store Subscription Validation Tool:
Automate the extraction and validation process by introducing the tool in BDM Application to streamline the business process. ETL process is used to automate the assortment process that was done manually using excel sheets for departments and their mapped departments.
ii)Reinstatement of stores:
The ETL Process to extract the List of Remodel Stores from the ADR7 server which is going to be remodelled 84 days from the system date. The process will help the Business users to sell out the items which are getting dropped from the store within the remodel period to maximize the profit.
iii)Automated Proposed Planogram Correction:
This is an approach taken up to compare active and proposed subscriptions to remove the discrepancies in the planograms that occur due to SCA’s re-clustering. This is an observed business scenario that while a planogram moves from proposed state to active state, there are chances that a store re-clustering can occur. Due, to this re-clustering, the already proposed planograms that have yet not reached the active state are apparently in the wrong cluster. This wrong clustering can impose significant business losses. Thus, to come up with a solution to this problem, Automated Planogram Correction System was implemented.
